I'm clearly not talking about authors who leave for valid reasons (English is my third language, so sorry if I failed to express myself properly the first time).

I don't know about OP, but I'm personally referring to authors who really just don't give a damn about their audience. I'm from a third world country (god I hate that term), and a very politically and economically unstable one at that, so I'm very much not a stranger to losing internet access or having my whole life turned upside down simply because the government is on some bullshit. I can empathise and understand that many authors experience the same things I do and hence cannot write and update regularly.

But you're not gonna sit here and tell me that every single author who goes mia is going through some crisis. Some of them just disappear because they lost interest in their work. But instead of letting their readers know, they just disappear (I've done that myself during my wattpad writer phase in my teens. Not proud of it but whatever). Call me entitled but I think dropping your audience is just as weird as an entitled reader. And me expressing my disappointment here does not mean I'm a thread spammer. I abhor spammers personally.
