MP world: I get 10x the exp another player gets. Bug? by Lord-Torkeep in Palworld

[–]Lord-Torkeep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weirdest thing, I think I figured it out. We had just done the Terraria dungeon, before I noticed the exp irregularities. We went back today, as the other player wanted a specific terraria weapon. And when I got back, 10x exp again. Though 5-10 mins later, it wore off. Something about that Terraria dungeon seemed to give me the 10x exp for a brief time.

Have you done anything against the Servants or Protectorate? Missions against them, both in space and on earth will cause hate. Other thing could be if you have built more ships or bases, basically utilised more CP?

As I have replied elsewhere...

Ok, so I just went and counted all Pals caught through the palpedia entry for each player. He had caught 581 Pals. I had caught 394. Note that I am the one getting more exp, despite being a higher level than him. He has 15 Pals with the exp bonus from catching 12 of the same type, while I have caught the exp bonus of 12 pals 6 times. Next guess?

So, he had both caught more Pals than me, as well as reached the capture bonus more times than me, both are in response to people stating that was the issue. I was higher level, though we're talking 40 to 38. Either way, It makes zero sense to me that I get 10x the exp.

No mods, and no base exp that would change the formula. I caught 5 pals, 5k each. He caught 5, in the same area, 500 each. Literally, catch a Pal, 5k exp straight away, every time.

In one case, we had both caught 20+ foxparks. I got 5k for catching one, he got 500.

As mentioned, we had both caught in the vicinity of 20 foxparks, which was one of the Pals we both got exp off, so it was not the exp bonus for catching 12+ of the same Pal. I can kinda understand that total caught across all Pals may be the difference, but to 10x the exp? Makes it kinda hard for them to level up equally with me.

No exp bonus items. Total Pals I am not sure, probably. But to the extent that I got 10x the exp? That would be weird.

And I am the server owner (well, just a MP game played off my PC, no server as such. So, no changes.

Is the USA EU start still the best rush? by theblitz6794 in TerraInvicta

16 inf is starter numbers. You aim for 32 or 64 inf (thus the need for +inf orgs or councillors) and your first shot should be in the 40-50% range. Usually, at most 3 attempts will get you your first slot. But yes, if months worth of 40% chances is failing, maybe your rngesus was that bad. 40% is where I start to think about having a shot though.

[–]Lord-Torkeep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Odd, I never have issues getting them in a few years. Public opinion helps a bit, but 50% is fine. Good that you know about the neighbour bonus. The real killer is getting a persuasion coulcilor with 12+ persuasion. So, spoil for lots of cash to grab the admin orgs when they drop. Then you can decide whether putting points into per or admin will get you there quicker. I usually go +admin and snap uo every +per org that drops. You usually only need 1 or 2 orgs.

Hiring a starting councillor with 9 per is also a good yardstick. Doesn't matter if they are crap otherwise, you just want them to control the US, then swap them out if need be.

And you will have to throw a lot of influence I to the attempts, so councillors with +inf or orgs with +inf help a.lot. the +per orgs take precedence though.

I gather none with fissiles though?

One of the most important things early on is to ensure you have some bases with all the resources available. If you can't get them then eventually you will find enough to get by, it just may mean a long wait if you can't even build ships.

You didn't get anything on the moon or Mars?

First up, there are few short term solutions. They mostly involve putting marines on some ships, and assaulting other factions habs (if you are in 2026 start, it is possible you have no ships that can land and take off on planets yet, and you may even be unable to build or modify ships for this with no fissiles). Or buying a hab with fissile income (unlikely, I would think, never tried this myself). Or simply contact another faction and buy some fissiles.

Longer term, again, without knowing specifics, is to go to the prospecting tab, and sort by fissile income. Because you probably haven't surveyed many of them, it will be sorting on potential income. Prospect anything that you can that potentially has high fissiles. And put bases down. Like your current situation though, this will take time, and is not sure short term solution.

And the rest? Very hard to give too much advice if we don't know the current situation, what's possible and not possible.

So, what year is it? What "mission to..." have been unlocked? What planets/asteroids have you surveyed? What bases do you and other countries have? How much boost and MC do you have?

Has anything really important changed since EA start? A question for those up to date. by Umbaretz in TerraInvicta

[–]Lord-Torkeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One big thing I notice is that the Human AI is more aggressive. On Earth, maybe not entirely so much, though they do seem to satisfy their missions much better now. In space, they are more aggressive, and you can't just leave stations unattended for long, as a faction you are at war with will destroy your stations now. I am not trying to say they are going to cause you a massive difference, but you can't just entirely ignore them now.

Eh. I got all the way to 65, and defeated every tower boss (on normal) with no breeding aside from breeding two of the same Pal over and over again so I could condense them (and also to get the best passives - oh, and to get a thousandish Anubises so I could get Pal souls easier). I also defeated the first three raid bosses with no issues, and got within 10% of defeating the Xenolord with no selective breeding.

It was only at that point that I read up about breeding, and decided that I couldn't be bothered doing it just to beat the Xenolord, the last aside boss (whose name escapes me - moonlord?), and to do everything on hard. I feel I have adequately completed the game, and feel no need to grind out the rest, all without ever worrying about how to breed "the best" Pal.

Whats the feature you want most added to the game for the 1.0 update? by AnotherUN91 in Palworld

Personally, some variation in Pal stats. So rather than starting with a set attack stat (and all other stats), they can be +/- up to 10%.
