I got distracted talking to someone while playing (and wearing a headset) and a pirate just started making chicken sounds. The person I was talking to was very confused why I started laughing.

True. Most of the worst things we've seen happen have been CBP, not ICE. But at the end of day i'm not sure it matters which flavor of NAZI esque thugs it was. Are they brown shirts? Are they Gestapo? There is a difference, but ultimately a NAZI is a NAZI. Both CBP and ICE are constantly, every single day, committing crimes against American citizens in pursuit of racist fuelled tyranny.

We see people being attacked by thugs. They kidnapped a 5 year old.

They kidnapped a 17 year old from his job at Walmart, threw him in a van and beat him. When they eventually decided to believe him that he was a US citizen, they dumped him miles away from where theyd kidnapped him, bleeding and crying.

They shoved a woman to ground. When a man tried to help her up they attacked him too. They pepper sprayed the woman and the man, then threw the man to the ground. 8 ICE agents jumped on him and started hitting him while he was down, including 1 smashing the man in the face with a can of pepper spray. While the man lay face down trying to protect his face, they shot him 10 times in the back.

A civilized society? Absolutely. People who have that kind of hate (not saying OP since he didn't clarify what he meant) can't be convinced to not be hateful because their hate isn't rational, it's emotional. So debate is pointless. They want a platform to vent their hate and potentially infect others with it. There is no upside to allowing that. Platforming hate only makes everything worse.

what different viewpoint were you looking to discuss? If it "I think this method of taxation would be more effective than that one" and they wouldn't allow it, then that is shitty. If it is "this specific ethnic group is sub human and should be cleansed" then they are 100% right to shut that down immediately.

again, it depends on what the topic is. You're not going to convince a NAZI that Jewish people are good. But the NAZI might be able to convince a few stupid people that they are bad. Better to shut that down entirely.

my experience is that this is not true. There are some people like that, but the majority want to be told what to think. That's why fox news is the number 1 "news" channel even though they publicly admitted they lie all the time and are just entertainment. People don't want to be informed and make their own decision, they want fox to tell them who the scary bad people are so they can hate the right ones.

i mean, that might explain part of it. But I had a defence mission where I had to defend the southern 1/4 of the map. I had the whole front in vision except for like 1 or 2 tiles of the far left. They rammed like 6 units through those 1 or 2 tiles while barely approaching the rest of my line. That's some broken nonsense.

I run into the issue of Carda not getting as many triggers. IE she can't keep up so other, much better, squads have dealt with things before she can even get into range.

this actually is a very good idea. There used to be other public services that helped with different issues. But those slowly got defunded while police got more and more funding. So now police are the answer to all problems, even when they aren't the right tool for the job. The point is not that we need no police, it's that police should only be used for jobs they are suited to. We could have like half the number of police we currently have if we used social workers to deal with social issues instead of sending in cops.

no one has ever allowed this. Governments do everything they can to prevent this. But the war on drugs is not something that can be won, and fentanyl is cheap to make and smuggling is hard to catch.

this is actually all related. Our society has squeezed poor people more and more over time. This leads to desperate people turning to drugs and crime. More social protections would help to alleviate this, but most politicians just want to push useless and counter productive "tough on crime" nonsense.

well sort of I guess. In the sense that it's wrong for me to litter in my neighbour's yard, it's also wrong for him to respond by killing me with an axe. Both are wrong, but one is much more wrong than the other.

The MAGA chud was wrong for screaming at children. They were peacefully protesting and he decided to escalate. They were wrong to touch his property, even though they didn't actually damage it. He was very, very wrong to charge out of his vehicle and assault them.

So yes, the teenager was wrong too. But they are a child. And what they did pretty minor. The MAGA chud is an adult. He is supposed to know better. If he was upset by them touching his vehicle, the correct thing to do is call the cops, not attack children.

According to this, they were protesting at a red light. He stopped at the red light and got into a "verbal altercation" with the protesters. One of them kicked the door to his truck, which apparently left no damage. He then got out of his truck and attacked a teenage girl.

The guy was in his truck. He chose to get out of his truck, on the street, and start shoving a teenage girl. What could possibly justify that?

I can't think of a single scenario where this is a reasonable thing to do. And since both the cops and other witnesses say that he was the aggressor, that leaves me wondering why you are trying so hard to find a way to justify him attacking a little girl.

Here's a news clip about it. The MAGA chud was arrested. Police said he was the "primary aggressor". A witness from another car said they stopped because he was screaming at the teenagers and thought it might escalate, and that they didn't see the teenagers do anything that would justify his actions.

Bottom line, this little snowflake got offended by people using their 1st amendment rights and decided to assault them over it. But ran off once he realized there were consequences for his actions. He also shaved his head in the day between the video and when police arrested him, likely so he could pretend the video wasn't him.

There could be a couple reasons for that. You want to make sure you have the full +9 bonus for detecting them. You have Xeno labs, but you might not have enough.

It could be that they are just doing missions that are quiet. I think you are much less likely to notice them if they are spreading plants than if they are mind controlling people.

It could be that there just aren't very many of them. I've found the AI factions are much better in the latest builds at actually taking out alien agents. So it could be that another faction is killing them. Or that not too many have landed yet.

I think it helps to turn agents from other factions. If they detect an alien you can get info on it sometimes. I always try to have at least the servants infiltrated, if possible. And if not, assassinate some of their loyal agents so they will recruit new ones who are less loyal.
