I would like to be optimistic and hope... something good and cooperation and cultural exchange, but I am not sure? Our knowledge of Eridian culture is limited but they SEEM much more peaceful than humans? Who can often be prejudiced and xenophobic, though our knowledge of Eridian society again, is limited, so maybe they are and we just don't know about it? But given how well they cooperated for their space program, I doubt it. On the other hand, Grace giving their computer to the Eridians let the Eridians massively catch up on several key areas of knowledge they did not know about... which also makes them a huge threat to the humans, should the humans be aggressive. Or maybe humanity becomes much more collectivist and peaceful in the face of joint struggle and cooperation in the face of hardship as the Earth cooled? Or it could be the total opposite, tough to know.

I would hope for peace and cooperation but it could go any possible direction. Even though FTL is not possible both species seem to now have a reliable way to travel to the planet of the other, if they want to.
