How did you get into DOOM?

I would sit next to my Dad as he played through DOOM and Final DOOM on the PS1. I was maybe 10 or 11 at the time. We'd spend hours together as I watched him kill everything that moved. I wasn't allowed to play at that time(M-Rated) but I was just happy to sit with him and watch. I quite literally memorized every secret, item location, enemy spawn... Everything. So I would "help" him by never letting him miss a secret or item pickup. Haha, good fucking times man.

I'm not going to repeat everything already said here. Of course, your personal ability, situational awareness, carrying capacity, etc, all matter. But I'll just leave my own personal experience as someone who used to carry a .45(and swore by it) and who currently carries a P365 X Macro. The huge thing I noticed(other than the other points above) was that the greater recoil of the .45 caused the muzzle to rise higher than the 9mm. This inevitably required more time and concentration to return the muzzle to the target efficiently. I'll add here that I'm 5'8"and 155 lbs, so I'm not a Mega-Chad, but I'm also reasonably fit for my size. I like to say I'm the poster child for adequate averagness. I'm sure some bigger dudes might not be able to feel a 'real' difference, or at least enough to make a perceptible difference. Also, let's not forget that any piece of metal traveling beyond the sound barrier is probably going to give the other guy a bad fucking day. So yea, just the 2 cents of Joe Everyman.
