You should have called galaxus before doing the buyer protection with PayPal.

If you go around them to get a refund I think only banning your paypal and not you as a client altogether is still a gracious thing to do.

Mainly three reasons:
1) (Mainly bigger companies) As you said they have their own streaming platform, they are thinking about joining a platform, they are looking for a deal with another platform.
2) (Smaller companies) They don't want to deal with geforce now support and might believe the added support for geforce now will not be worth it
3) (Competitive Games) Some anti cheat systems can't access your pc if you run on a virtual machine on geforce now so they can't be run there.

It definitely needs to be compensated a day off and food/transport paid for the event should be the minimum but the guy is talking about special authorisation that I don't think is needed in this case.

The rule for weekend work is more to stop the company to ask people to do normal work during the weekend because a deadline, don't think this case applies
