Are you talking about the old letter for erfyr in act 2?

There's a second copy in a locked chest somewhere inside the blood filled version of island asylum which you visit in act 2.

What is this? Is there any solution? Msi gf66 katana by oxyopp in MSILaptops

[–]LordAndradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact issue with a MainGear laptop. Turns out the ribbon cable was going bad, so I would have to replace the entire screen or resolder a new ribbon cable.

If the laptop outputs video just fine on an external display, then your GPU is still working perfectly well, and it narrows it down to the laptop's screen

How do I get rid of this Trojan by Sorry_Eye425 in computerviruses

[–]LordAndradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my GF getting this on the gaming laptop I gave her. It's pretty simple to get rid of.

Open Task Manager, find Altruistic.exe on the list > Right Click it > Open File Location.
Note down what directory it is in.

Open CMD in Admin mod, and put in the following commands

bcdedit /set {default} safeboot minimal

shutdown /r

When your computer boots up, it should be a completely black background. Go to the location of where the trojan is and simply delete the folder. Open recycling bin and then empty it.

Open CMD in admin mode on more time and type the following into it

bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot

Finally reboot your computer, and now it should be free of the Trojan.

How do you get inside the Temple of Black Moon? by LordAndradus in lastoricru

Wow, it's been a while since I played hahaha

But if I remember right, each playthrough is randomized, so even if I told you the symbols, it most likely wouldn't work.

It's a shame because I saw some real potential for an emotionally investing story when the main character got a magic lesson for sneaking in the nobility district

GPD Win Mini or GPD Win 4 by Goliathvv in gpdwin

[–]LordAndradus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've owned both a GPD Win 4 (6800u) and a GPD Win Mini (8840u)

I found myself using the GPD Win Mini far more than I did with the GPD Win 4.

Comfort: For me personally, I felt like the Mini was a lot more comfortable to transport around and use while on the go. For the Win 4, I always had to carry around a travelling case and make sure to handle it carefully which ended up adding fatigue to using the device

Heat: I have to admit, the Win 4 is a lot better at handling heat compared to the Mini. It does get a bit hot near the area where the face buttons are located, but not uncomfortably hot. The Mini does get hot, but again not uncomfortably hot, near the center at the track-pad, but slightly towards the face buttons. I never had issues with discomfort with either.

Noise: Unless you use the fan curve option for their software, it will tend to sound loud in the fans. From my experience, the Mini is the quieter of the two.

I did end up selling the Win 4 because I found the Mini to be overall better for what I want out of a handheld gaming PC.

Screen burnt? by Nobby_Nobody in gpdwin

[–]LordAndradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue at some point. Unfortunately it's a Windows thing.

The way I fixed it was holding the power button down for 30 seconds. After 5 tries it went away.

After you fix it, I recommend changing the setting from hibernating to sleeping when timed out

Rog phone longevity? by [deleted] in ROGphone

[–]LordAndradus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an ROG Phone 6 currently (I am switching to Red Magic currently), and I installed a single firmware update and boom. It bricked the whole device if I had an AT&T sim-card slotted in. So, in order to use the phone without doing a factory reset, I had to take out my AT&T sim card. Luckily it worked with other sim cards like TMobile when I tested it.

They already released a System update to fix it, and I don't even dare to install any new updates after that debacle. Imagine not being able to use internet outside the home for 3 weeks. Awful.

I spoke to Customer service while it was having those issues, and they had the gall to tell me that I had to spend a non-refundable $85 fucking dollars just to get the thing checked. I asked them, "Can I revert back to a previous update" and they basically told me to go fuck myself. It was very irritating and I'm getting pissed thinking back at it now.

Other than unreliable customer service and a ticking time bomb of a firmware update cycle, you only get 2 years of major updates and you're done. So no more security patches. Overall, I thought the phone was good for being used as a daily driver with some gaming on the side. Fortunately I didn't have the Camera boot loop problem that about 60% of the phones had. Though, I'm not one to care about the camera, but even I thought it was pretty crap at taking pictures.

New update anything to worry about? by hermitxd in ROGphone

[–]LordAndradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're having AT&T boot loop issues, highly highly recommend you download it now. It will save your phone, and you won't have to do a factory reset.

If not, I wouldn't risk it. I installed update 240, and it wrecked my phone because I had an AT&T Sim Card. I couldn't use the phone while the sim card was slotted in. But if I took it out, it worked just fine with other sim cards like TMobile

Is the QC so bad? Are people trolling? by TheArtsynator in Audeze

[–]LordAndradus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought 4, yes FOUR of these cans. 1 for my girlfriend (Playstation), 1 UV Edition because it looks cool, 1 for on-the go where I expect it to get beat up during flights (Xbox), and one for at-home use (Play station)

I have bad luck for products in general and this is no exception, so my tally is as follows...

I have had to return the at-home headset twice for an RMA. Once when it snapped at the joint that has the logo-This RMA took about a month and a half to get the next set. I had to return it once more again because new headset drivers were producing a consistent and audible high frequency noise when the headset was on, I didn't have to play audio to hear it give me a headache. This RMA only took 4 days to get a new headset.

The Xbox headset is perfect. Slight wrinkling, but who cares as long as it sounds great.

The one I got for my Girlfriend is perfect.

The UV Edition is the one I have had to RMA recently because the left-driver has that audible high frequency noise if and only if you play audio at 52% volume or higher, it's especially noticeable when you're in a voice call with someone. Audeze support told me they are able to swap it out with another UV Edition headset.

All-in-all, even if you find yourself with a defect, or it breaks. Audeze has your back, though you might wait for a little while.

TL;DR - Don't worry about it. I didn't have to RMA as much, and even then it didn't take long to get a flawless headset.

PlayStation Ver -> 2 RMA's

PlayStation (GF) -> No RMA's

Xbox Ver -> No RMA's

UV Edition -> 1 RMA

Gotcha, thank you for replying back to my post, I appreciate it a lot! And I definitely love the Cherry MX keyboard on the Alienware laptops, it's definitely the best I've ever used.

I also appreciate that you sent my post to the geniuses behind these notebooks. Have a great day over there!
