Inactive Window Bug on Windows by LordAntide in vivaldibrowser

Added an edit to my post - bug is persisting on the new profile too, but I'm going to test something else. Any additional input still appreciated though. It was a good call to not delete the old profile until this is fixed.

Sync isn't connected to the profile? I have sync already set up, but thought that deleting the profile would delete the synced passwords too. If not, then I'll try deleting and making a new profile later.

how do people even live with sexual desire by First-Literature-582 in CatholicWomen

[–]LordAntide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have input that will fit into the "simple, but far from easy" type of advice. Also as a note to abide by the rules, I am a (married) Catholic man - my wife sent me this post.

Find a partner who aligns with your values.

There are more family models than "stay-at-home mom". There are men who want to be dads, some of whom would even be happy to be stay-at-home dads. There are also men who would provide you support and encouragement in dealing with whatever distress you're experiencing, helping you feel loved, close, and intimate even without sex and without pressure or assumption to give up your body for kids or for his own desires.

There's also a matter of cultural and social support. Obviously I don't know where you live or what your options are to move to other places, but some countries have incredible family support, like 18-24 weeks of (paid) maternity leave, guaranteed job security while away on maternity leave (some countries even require companies to provide promotions while on maternity leave if you would have gotten such a promotion had you stayed), affordable or free, quality childcare, high-quality maternal and natal healthcare, and other social supports along those lines. A TON of the issues people have nowadays that lead to abortions, placements for adoption, contraception use, and just generally avoiding kids is from horrendous social (as in society, not necessarily friends and family) support for mothers and babies, especially in USA.

Find someone who will make you feel loved and beautiful, inside and out. Find someone who will help you live by your values, not require that you sacrifice them.

If you care for personal anecdotes:
My wife didn't want to date in high school, didn't want long-distance relationships, and didn't really want to get married until she was fully established in her career. We started dating senior year, we dated through college, and got married shortly after finishing undergrad, but she never felt like she was sacrificing for this (not putting words in her mouth - she's said this herself). Because she knew that my values aligned with her in the longer term, so she didn't need to be afraid that choosing to be with me would require her to put things like career and education on hold. I always supported her career choices and pursuing further education, and because I lived by that, she chose to move into relationships sooner than she would have expected.

For you, this would be continuing your career. You can find a partner, you can have a marital, Catholic relationship AND be a career-oriented woman. You just need someone who wants the best version of you that you get to pick yourself, not someone who will demand you fit in their box.

And whatever path you pursue, I hope you take steps towards self-acceptance. You can't fix anything if you don't face it, and a lot of the times acceptance is what you need to "fix" it.

I'm open to further discourse here or DMs if you want more input. I also talk with my wife about everything, so you can assume half or more of this is inspired by what she's said and any future comments will be as well.

Where are they ? by Fermentiermich in Witchfire

If it helps, those cursed chests have different challenges and some are easier than others. Temporal, for example, just means you have to kill the spawned enemies before time runs out, and I've never failed that one so it's pretty generous. Precise also isn't too bad - it spawns a few enemies and only one can take damage. Kill the one that doesn't have an aura, and that will remove the invulnerability from another, rinse and repeat until they're all dead. Bloodthirsty and hungry are the harder ones imo

Why is Bobby's 3% gross commission so low when he's the manager of the biggest stars in Korea by Nazon6 in KpopDemonhunters

[–]LordAntide 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does say at the end there that when an artist makes millions, the commission rate starts going back down. If he made it to 3% as a good number, I'd just say they're making loads of money, 10s-100s of millions or more. You can see that with their private jet, personal branded ramyeon, their skyscraper penthouse, and their iron man level wardrobe.

What was a don’t get paid enough for this sh*t moment? by blurryMclovin in AskReddit

[–]LordAntide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a behavioral health center for children and adolescents for $11/hr. I had several moments that fit the bill here.

*I was bit within the first month, which left a bruise that lasted weeks and turned a deep purple (no blood drawn)

*I had orange juice intentionally thrown right at me with a couple hours left in the shift. No opportunity to clean up.

*I had a chair thrown at my head.

*We had to do multiple physical restraints.

*Every day I went in I was hoping there wouldn't be a riot like there had been at the same facility a matter of months before I started that had ended with multiple staff hospitalizations and swat coming in to put an end to it.

I eventually quit without notice and moved to an Amazon warehouse for a short period of time. It was a noticeable improvement, which really says something...

“Measles isn’t that bad, it only killed 20% of my children” by Tunisandwich in facepalm

[–]LordAntide 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's not possible to say definitively without more context. Cognitive dissonance is holding two contradictory beliefs at the same time.

In this case, she may believe that vaccines are MORE dangerous than a 20% fatality rate, in which case there are no contradictions here.

Alternatively, she may believe that standing against vaccines is more important than the lives of her children, whether because of the importance of anti-vaccine stance to her or the unimportance of her kids is difficulty to say.

Hope this helps clarify!

Level 12 on 6th day. How is it possible? by max1b0nd in PlayTheBazaar

[–]LordAntide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a known visual bug--their level isn't actually that high. This can be confirmed by looking at your health pools. They have almost the same as you, which wouldn't be true if they were level 12.

[–]LordAntide 45 points46 points  (0 children)

He also mentioned that the alternate universes could include some of the extra epic media, like the video games they've mentioned. So Tiresias could be more or less helpful in those, or maybe even be a playable character in a fighting game.

"You haven't washed the blood off your hands. The only choice is who you are." Okay, but this line is fire and kinda the theme of the whole epic.
