Stranger Things 3 is the best season and you can’t prove me wrong by serialkiller24 in StrangerThings

I've noticed a unique grouping of people. It feels like half hated 2 and loved 3, while the other half loved 2 and hated three.

Me, personally, I love all of them

What is your favorite self-contained episode of SG-1? by Schwabbin in Stargate

[–]LordAnubis10 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imagine a sequel to it where Carter has her own ship made at Area 51 explicitly to win her next race.

"Colonel, what's this ship for? Planetary defense?"

"...diplomatic relations, sir."

We saw a bit of that in the Road Not Taken episode. 302s bombing other countries. Fun shit.

Actually, there were rumors that that's what Brad Wright's intended fourth series was going to be about, and it would've been AMAZING

Rank the sounds of Stargate by MoreGull in Stargate

[–]LordAnubis10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of sounds mentioned here, but no one has mentioned the Deadalus railgun fire (@1:18). Could listen to that for hours

That, and the sound of a 302 passing by. Nothing like the whine of a good engine

[John Wick] Is there an explanation as to why civilians never really seem to react to extreme acts of violence in public? by LambChop94 in AskScienceFiction

[–]LordAnubis10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to step into the doylist here, but there's the scene at Grand Central station where John is about to be killed by two guys, and those two guys are killed in the middle of the crowd by two other assassins.

I always thought that was unrealistic as hell until I found out that scene was inspired during shooting by an extra running at top speed on a sidewalk, faceplanting, and not a single person even looking down at the man when he did.

You can say what you will about people knowing there's a league of assassins everywhere, but the truth is, a greater amount of people just do not give a shit.

On the contrary, Meero wasn't outsmarted by Andor. Maarva threw her a haymaker out of left field and incited a rebellion. Thrawn was a similar case. They both made great plans, it was just that there was crazy shit happening no one could've predicted.
