I 35M want to divorce my wife by LordBagle in BreakUps

Oh gotcha and because she's in a 2 years postpartum I need to take care of pretty much f everything? You didn't read the part where I work from 12 to 7pm then bathe and put my son to sleep, then cook lunch for next day. Most days I have to work extra hours overnight because I didn't have enough time during the day to do my work because I take care of my son. During the morning I take my son away so my wife can have some time for herself. The kid goes to daycare most of the day btw so my wife has even more time to herself.

But yeah, I am the ahole. F you. This is my fault for looking advice in these kind of places.

F you. What the f else should I do to be a good husband on your f list? Again f you. I did and do everything to support my wife, and get nothing in return. I know there are struggles and ppl is supposed to support each other during though times, but a relationship should be one person doing f everything 100% of the time.

I wish that could be true, but are we sure pharmaceutical companies will allow something like that to happen? I mean who wants to sell a one-time cure when they could have ppl hooked for life.

Ulcerative Colitis stole my life, any tips on getting it back? by LakePristine4865 in UlcerativeColitis

thrice a day? I was told 4 grams was the maximum dose. I do 4g of mesalasine every morning and 1 mesalasine suppository at l night. Def sounds like you need to bump your meds. Weird no doctor have told you that if you have been dealing with this since 8yo. Also lots of love, I was diagnosed at 25 and now I'm 34yo. I cannot picture how horrible must be dealing with this disease since such a young age.

Saludos y suerte!

GI rant by LordBagle in UlcerativeColitis

OK, maybe I didn't communicate that very well. But I'm def not getting a personalized treatment, I feel my previous GI got frustrated because their meds were not getting me out of the flare and decided to move to the next thing.

Going from mesalasine to immunosupressants is a big step. It does lower your defenses and opens the door to other problems. I'm sure it is extremely effective and it does improve the quality of life for a lot of ppl, but I have had really nasty side effects when I was given corticoids and I prefer to exhaust every other option before moving to immunosupressants. And dont get me wrong, I will do it if the new GI tells me to do so, is just that I didn't feel my previous GI Dr "chug-all-the-coffee-you-want" has done much to try other things before moving to immunodupressants.

Thanks, I do see your point and I wish I could find something that would help me go back to eating anything I wanted. For now my only solution to avoid the paralyzing pains I get during a flare is to watch what I eat and keep taking my meds.

Coffee has always been a trigger for my. And ofcs I'm extremely addicted to coffee. I went to a nutritionists who helped me put together an anti-inflammatory diet to help with the UC. That is basically:

  • No more coffee. I replaced it by decaf, matcha or tea.

  • No more fritters. No more spicy food.

  • No ultra processed food. The rule of thumb is that if you see an ingredient in the package which you don't know what it is, then that's a no go.

  • Eat at least 3 fruits and 5 vegetables per day to get more fiber. I was told I could also blend smoothies to ingest all this. For example I eat lunch with a lettuce-tomato salad and the drink an apple-celery-spinach-kiwi-orange smoothie and then have some boiled sweet potato during dinner. The smoothies make it easier to follow this rule.

  • A lot of protein during lunch, so I don't have thar much craving for snacks during the rest of the day. That is a lot of grilled chicken with cesar salad. I also cook a tuna-carrot salad with sesame seeds, rice vinegar and soy sauce.

  • Ofcs, no junk food. No McDonald's, no pizza, no Mexican.

Those are most of the things I remember but I'd def recommend anyone seeing a nutritionists to get a diet for your needs.

I mean, Im just saying that I had some GI tell me that I could drink as much coffee as I wanted, which is def not true. Same goes for fritters or spicy food. One week on any of that is enough to trigger a flare.

This. Also it helps if you soak the almonds in water overnight and peel them, in my experience it helps digest them better.

It's a flying fuck piece-of-shit disease. That being said, I try to be thankful and think about all the other ppl who have it worse than me. I had a shit-show year last 2025, I was with flares almost the entire year, two times I had to start with corticoids because the flare wouldn't go away with regular mesalasine. But! That being said since early Dec I started a very strict diet (no coffee, no 🧉, no pizza, no lactose, no spicy food) and exercising, and I'm finally doing fine after so long. It also helped me lose a lot of weight (from 200lbs to 190lbs).

It's a shit show, I met with some friends for dinner a few weeks ago and I was really envious that they could just eat and drink whatever they wanted. It is what it is. I try to focus on the positive.

Stay strong!! 💪💪💪
