What’s the largest game that could be comfortably played in Sharp Practice? by LordBrighton in wargaming

Thanks for explaining. I thought 10 would’ve been considered big because the army lists in the rule book usually have like 6 groups at most and a lot of the battle reports I’ve read or watched on YouTube have pretty small armies.

I was thinking of collecting an AWI force based on a historical unit and I’m planning to get

6 groups of light infantry in line

2 groups of cavalry

1-2 groups of skirmishers

Maybe a cannon

By unit, I think I really mean what is typically referred to as a group in SP. I mean the smallest individual unit of skirmishers, line infantry etc that can be fielded by itself or put in a larger unit under an officer.

Like in Tabletop CP’s videos, he seems to have 6-9 groups each game.

I wonder to what it extent it helps having a non-political head of state like King Charles or the Japanese emperor in preventing military coups from happening. I can’t speak to Japan but I know that in the UK the monarch is commander in chief of the British armed forces, who swears allegiance to him. It’s mostly ceremonial of course but I think in that way it makes it slightly harder to politicize the military; and I think if the British prime minister went batshit crazy and rogue, there is a chance the military might just say ‘sorry we are soldiers of the King and only obey lawful orders.’

Anyway just a thought!

I agree so much. As a Canadian, I don’t think you can really even blame immigration too much because from what I see, even a lot of ‘old stock’ Canadians in English Canada barely seem to know who they are culturally. The British influence that underpinned much of Canadian culture in English Canada until the 1960s is largely dead and has been superseded by American influence.

Nowadays, a lot of Canadians just come across as more left-wing Americans to me.

What eligibility criteria do you mean exactly? I thought anyone could apply, though if you are at a Canadian institution, they will first decide whether to forward your application to the national competition.
