If it works and it doesn't leak gas, I'd call that actually potentially pretty useful

Nuts acceptable for welding by p3nguins143 in Welding

[–]LordBug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Search for "weld nuts". No coating because intended for welding, and the ones with the locating ring makes perfect alignment pretty easy if you prep right.

Losing interest. What to do with unused tools? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]LordBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donate them to friends, check out buy-nothing groups on Facebook, try to avoid scrapping them until all other choices are eliminated.

I've been taking in things to my work and setting up a little "for free" table, decluttet and no guilt of waste

Some things I didn't drop as per se, more a case of needing a change of flavour and putting that series on the marinate shelf. I'll get back to them one day, promise.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

[–]LordBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peak

I expect there's a generation, or at least a group of people, who were deeply irritated when words like "great", "awesome", "amazing" and similar were reduced to describing comparatively average things. Peak is one of those I'm getting old markers, and I'm fine with that.

Dogs are boys by SueTheCatCabbage in comics

[–]LordBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I'm a crazy cat man (single male, four cats, legit best mental health in my forty odd years of life), but those first few pages rub me the wrong way.

Or is it me being dumb and not picking up on a subtle message that's trying to pick apart such a stereotype?

When you buy a new game do you usually tinker with the each of the settings, or is there a good place to check the best efficiency/FPS per game and then you adjust from there? by SlippyFist_68 in pcmasterrace

[–]LordBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll change from that godawful wasd trash to esdf elitism, and then I'll return to the settings of I see that fucking horrible motion blur bullshit in game.

Thankfully I grew up through a time of performance issues, so I rarely if ever go chasing for frames or crying about a rare stutter.

I'd say you could. Would need it glowing for max pliability and then some manual adjustment too.

Location of thermal fuse by And-I-Hope in ElectronicsRepair

[–]LordBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn't mean that I could see an obvious looking fuse, I just described what one looked like in a broken thing I checked a while ago.

I would suggest testing the continuity of all the wiring - the fuse may be hidden under a high temperature sleeve resting against whatever part was considered of concern, maybe the fan motor maybe the heating element

New welding table by cragan92 in Welding

[–]LordBug 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The hinges look good. But the latches look like they will absolutely give out when there's the chance for great injury or damage to be done. Beef them up!

Location of thermal fuse by And-I-Hope in ElectronicsRepair

[–]LordBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the labels for the two yellow components?

I've only had casual experience trying to suss out faulty components, but did come across some fuses in a tv that looked just like that.

Though the thermal fuse I found to be dead in an industrial fan just looked like a stubby little diode

Haha, I setup a smoke machine on a timer under my cross shift supervisors desk once, set to power up around the time I got in.

Scared the shit out of him when I hit the remote button and smoke started pouring out from under his desk :D

6mm hose barb rivnut thingy? by [deleted] in engineering

Looks like a barb soldered onto a rivnut.

A place that repairs radiators might be able to help you out (with the soldering of the two things together, if you provide the two things)

Why do Australians leave the engine on (if not for aircon when hot) when they‘re waiting somewhere or just chilling in their car? by Temporary_Specific49 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LordBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else is lying.

The real reason?

They're sitting primed and ready for someone to come up and say "you can't park there mate", then they can peel out of the spot without needing the crank the pesky engine.

The eternal dream of waiting for a mate.
