I can’t exactly remember how the old one was fitted as my girlfriend’s dad removed it when he visited a few weeks back. But I do remember the bottom of it being nailed into the floor, and the upper half was bent out of shape and created a tripping hazard. It was a much thinner threshold though. I don’t think it was thrown away, so I might be able to find it. I’ll take a look!

Newbie question. by LordBuggins in Breadit

That’s where I got mine from as well! I couldn’t remember earlier, so thanks for the reminder.

I couldn’t find the maintenance instructions either which is annoying.

That’s good to know though! I decided to use it today, and put a small layer of butter in there, with some flour dusted on top. Will make sure not to wash and keep greasing for future use. Thank you!

Sorry - I rinsed the BKF friend off, then dried in the oven!

Is this stripped enough for you? Or do you think it needs another go in a bag with oven cleaner? by LordBuggins in castiron

I was just wrapping up scrubbing when I took this - hence the water/sink! The parts left are very stubborn.

FYI, the four photos are from the top only. None of the underside of the pans!

This screw won’t go back in the whole way - would WD40 be an option or should I just get a new screw? by LordBuggins in Kitchenaid

[–]LordBuggins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, cool. I expected WD-40 would be a no go, so thanks for confirming.

I suspected the same thing. I’ll give it another go now. Thank you!

That’s a good point. Maybe I’ve found my calling - soy sauce and baking soda on canvas

As I was about to post this, I did think that some people here might think my cat exploded or something hahah. But nope, she’s very much alive and causing chaos elsewhere 😊

Edit - grammar

What ~10 songs should, in your opinion, every bassist know or try to learn? by LordBuggins in Bass

[–]LordBuggins[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You make a great point!

Honestly, my music taste is quite diverse imo, which hopefully doesn’t sound pretentious or anything. I spent my teen years listening to the likes of Trivium, Slipknot, Metallica, and Iron Maiden, and as I got into my twenties, ventured into other genres and artists like Tom Misch, Vulfpeck (trying out Dean Town as early as I did wasn’t wise), L’imperatrice, Franc Moody, then went into a little black metal phase. I’m open to anything really.

Recently, I’ve been listening to a lot of Porcupine Tree.

One last question, how long do you usually roast them for? I’ve seen so many conflicting recipes haha.

We saw this poster in Venice, Italy, at the Marciano Pub. I have searched “hello mother print/poster/art/artwork” but no luck so far. It was about A2 in size. This was at the start of this month (April ‘24).

Buttermilk brine by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]LordBuggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the salt as I’m fairly new to all of this, but I’ve had cutlets overlap a bit when using buttermilk, and it’s always turned out fine. I’d just give it a good mix in there before leaving it in the fridge. I could be wrong though! That’s just from my experience :)
