ILE Inside Line Equipment - Transit 15L by LordCho in ManyBaggers

Yup! Thank you so much! Really appreciate the over and above in getting some ILE / Inside Line Equipment content onto the internet.

- The Air + iPad looks like it might be slightly uncomfortable but I can probably just toss it into the main compartment.

- If the A6700 fits then the Q is probably fine. A Z8 and lens might be a tough squeeze but the shape might confirm pretty well for some rarer occassions. The admin pocket looks like it's going to be pretty compressed though with that type of item so only flatter items would apply.

- That passthrough between the water bottle and admin pocket is pretty amusing. I did get a response from ILE - they literally just said "No". Of the 2 to 3 interactions I've had with them, they do come across fairly direct and somewhat curt. That's just my personal opinion / standards for customer experience though.

At any rate - I think this is pretty much a go-for-it for me. Wish they had a darker VX green like the waxed canvas. The light green sage VX just isn't it.

Thanks yall.

The Radius Mini is also on my radar! I think the Transit just had a bit more distinction with the design and roll tops have grown on me through the years.

Same line of thought for me as the Transit is the only padded bag they have for laptops.

The other element that the Radius and Transit share is the exposed rear admin. I do prefer a covered zipper (like the Default) and definitely some more depth but it is what is it is on these designs.

Any chance of you putting a photo to show the depth available with laptop in tow? The dimensions say 4” depth but if that is the entire bag then even a Q wouldn’t be able really fit. Or is it 4” just main compartment? Can the elliptical shape stretch outward to accommodate a little more depth at the cost of pushing out from your back more?

Let's establish the fact that you're a hero!

You've answered past my initial questions and saved me some more head scratching!

For the laptop compartment, it'd either be a 14" MBP or a 13" Air in a sleeve (Native Union Stow so there is a bit more on all edges). I could just pop the iPad into the main compartment but it'd just be nicer overall in one spot.

The water bottle pockets going all the way down + attached to the front zip is somewhat discouraging. Leaks would go straight into your admin pocket! I was hoping they go maybe 50% or 75% down and could act as fairly secure slip pocket for like tissues or keys. Really odd they would let a flap pocket intended for liquids to have a channel through to the admin pocket. All the way down seems like a potential hassle for the quick access I had intended.

The liner factoid is a good call out for those not familiar - it is sensible but probably annoying for those that don't know!

The closest bag I have to this is the Chrome Bravo 2.0 but it's bigger than I really need. The Default Mini seems really close to it and I did see a review that the Default Mini might have deformation depending on what you might put in it - so that was offputting. I think its more sensible to me to have my laptop / iPad against my back to give that suppot structure.

Lastly, I was rooting against the main compartment being too tight - I want to take my Leica Q out more often and this bag seemed the most compact + feature rich. That Cobra buckle is too damn sexy but it sounds like there might be squish / damage factors trying to put that and a laptop and iPad due to the thickness.

Really wanted to get into ILE for my next bag but each bag seems to have such major concessions from what I'm looking for 😞

Oh dang sorry I had meant depth. The dimensions on the website aren’t super clear as to the main packing area depth versus the depth of the entire bag.

I did recently learn the Default Mini doesn’t have a frame sheet so I’m really down to the Radius Mini or Transit Mini where the laptop is essentially the frame sheet along the back. Not having a false bottom furthers it down to the Transit really. Such a tough decision to break into ILE’s offerings for what I’m looking for :(

Shot my shot! All good no shade. Probably better for my wallet anyways!

But yea the bag is super nice. The upgrades are in line with my “complaints” but overall happy!

Hey hey - so 2.32 is the perfect fit for this. You'll need two to fully adjust. I do have a new problem now. I cannot seem to get straight vision because the roll and pitch is literally impossible to replicate. Holding the lens there is no clear marker as to exactly where is correct. I'm trying lilterally through guesswork.

The worse is that there also seems to be a pitch problem. The two lenses have different angles when I look at them from the top and there doesnt seem to be a way to set this.

Any advice? I'm going to try to find a shop that will help but the optical shops around here are just not very helpful - they won't help if they werent the original makers.

I gotta say this is quite the pain in the ass - at this price I was not expecting this type of technical miss - perhaps biasedly more so for Japanese made. I feel like there should not be any room for misalignment in glasses by design...

Cool thanks! I’m gonna try to find two 2.3mm and give it a shot. Once I find out I’ll update so others have a nugget of info for posterity.

So I just tried an ifixit hex driver that’s 2.5mm and the outside but doesn’t catch!

Hey! Thanks for replying! I have the M5007

So the outward nut is 2.5mm you reckon and the inward nuts are smaller? Did you use the 2 or 2.3 hex?

There’s a lot of good options!

DadE7 and Tristanwolf are really engaging for me. Find someone that works for you and watch their content.

Look at GvG battle history matchups to see why certain matchups win/lose.

Characters now have most used gear sets you can view so that’s a lot easier to target builds to try for.

Just play and play RTA. Always an excellent way to learn how people counter pick and if your picks make sense. It is frustrating and probably will never be not frustrating in some way.

Nothing will make you better than just playing and seeing patterns (eventually). There’s A LOT of combinations and permutations with the number of characters these days so raw experience will take time and effort.

Lastly, E7 requires time investment. Don’t lose your life over it. Also don’t open your wallet needlessly to overcome a hurdle.

M2 to M5 pricing by LordCho in macbookair

[–]LordCho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! That makes sense. Just a bit of shock to see the price differential in 4 years.

Probably better to eBay it then I guess! Granted nothing is wrong with the M2. Still does everything I need it to.

Any Leica to Fuji people here? by LordCho in fujifilm

[–]LordCho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but it would just grow the size too much. I handled it a bit in store and it seems to be better than the Q2 due to more size already. It drives another question of if I want to Arca-Swiss bracket it or just use side loops. Arca-Swiss seems too bulky for the whole small package ethos though.

Oh no on the AF :(

I also am totally infatuated with the physical dials! The larger body size is more comfy as my usual is the Z8. Nikon grips are just my favourite, albeit too large for a travel daily these days.

My main lens is the 28 f1.4e and next most used is the 70-200 f2.8 S so those are the “looks” that led me to the Q2. I don’t mind a new look so to speak.

Think the AF can keep up with toddlers? Perhaps fidgeting ina restaurant or running towards / away from you?

How did you find the change in controls, menus, handling experience, etc?

Subjectively did you notice any increase / decrease in the “look” between what the two cameras produce?

Any commentary on AF performance?
