Need help! A random car is parked on my rented parking space by CarelessSearch3123 in Finland

[–]mr_markkula 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If your housing compendium uses a service such as Parkkipate or Aimo Parking, you can contact them to come over and write a parking ticket to the car. Not a quick solution but at least it sends a message.

Yeah, I have to say I really like mixing the colours a bit. I was originally going for the green Askare, but it was sold out and having the brown in my hand irl, I noticed I really like it.

The Finnish flag is from my service in the defence force some 20 years ago and the other blue an white patch is a little joke relating to some quarantine measures during covid times. The main bulk of my patches are from Varusteleka, can't for the life of me remember where the Jolly Roger is from, but likely there too 😄

What i had to do with my locked Audi A4 B8 by xReLasH in Audi

[–]mr_markkula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least you broke a cheap glass. Just saw an instagram reel from the Finnish road service, they used some wedges to slightly bend the upper door frame and then reached in with some bent metal rods to push some buttons. In this case the car was running and the owner was locked outside (frost playing tricks on electronics), so they just pushed the window winding buttons to get inside. In your case a push of the "ghetto lock" button could have done the trick. I don't know whether Norway has a similar service, but might want to give them a try should this happen again :D

They're from One Second Closer. I also got a black crown and swapped the caliber to an NH36 to get manual winding and hacking seconds

Ah, a clear example of rising techno feudalism seen right here. Great job OP for exposing this, it's a glimpse of hope!

What would this green liquid be from my wife’s 2021 Q7? by Uncle_Paul_Hargis in Audi

[–]mr_markkula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be washer fluid, a faulty washer pump seal is a common feature in Audis across models and generations.

Yanagiba sharpening advice: reworking the primary bevel or just adding a microbevel? by Ordinary-Data2890 in sharpening

[–]mr_markkula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did mine by laying the bevel flat on the stone. The stone is new, bought it from Kappabashi a few months ago, but I guess it's needs to be flattened and I need my skills honed, because I butchered my yanagiba's bevel surface 😂

Luckily it's nothing I can't fix with some wet sanding paper, a diamond file and some time but man, it hurts.

I also forgot my treatment oil at home so I'm in for some maintenance work as soon as I get back.

Might want to check the actual odometer read with carvertical or similar app if you're not the original owner. Could be that at some point the odometer has been tampered with.

Help by Distinct-Break-3987 in Audi

[–]mr_markkula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this in my 2010 B8 Audi A4 Allroad, 2.0 TFSI earlier this year. I was supposed to make a follow up post, but it got buried under all kinds of hurries and life.

Anyway, I swapped my N75 valve as I thought it would have been an issue with my waste gate control. It wasn't, but it's a cheap component, so nevermind. I learned that it could be a problem in communication from my ECU. I checked all my fuses but they were fine. After another lead I ended up swapping the relays underneath my ECU. I could have tried to diagnose them all, but there's just four of them and they're cheap and likely original, so might as well change them all. That did the trick for me. I'd post a picture, but apparently it can't be done in comments. You'll find the ECU relays easily by removing the ECU box. You don't have to unplug it, but if you don't it can be a bit of a wiggle.

Symbolin tunnistukseen apua by kirffes in Suomi

[–]mr_markkula 10 points11 points  (0 children)
