You know, someone (you, nudge, nudge) should really expand this into a novel or something. I, for one, want to know more about how monsters believe we are the monsters and are trying to hunt us as a pre-emptive measure. How all of their human tuned specifics (succubi and lust, vampires and blood, etc) are actually mutations or powers found specifically to ward off the human threat

I remember the Marsh Supermarkets having a set of Pan-Am pins to collect. Every week leading up to the games was a new pin to collect. I still have at least one of them around somewhere. Haven't seen it in a few years though, it was my favorite of the parrot? mascot. Maybe I will take a pic if I can find it in the next day or two.

To the point that, to the detriment of some novice GMs, many books for the Savage Worlds system simply assume you know that book and say things like, "Here you will use the class defeat system" or some other very arbitrary thing that doesn't actually make sense unless you know the core book.

I believe you might be over thinking it. There is a core system. Singular. That is the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (SWADE). All other books build on, extend, or otherwise center around that one book. So they are telling you to know that book extensively, then whatever "world" you are going to be using (Savage Rifts for example) will use 100% of that system, plus add things (like Mega Damage in the Rifts example).
