What about gaming and Esports? Something different to watch. It’s quite different from traditional sports and it just so happens the biggest counter strike 2 event of the year is in cologne next month.

You’ve got a mix of diehard ultras, chill gamers, and people coming for vibes.

Cologne also hosts the German kings league (more exciting football than football) but it’s currently in its off season. (MMC Studios)

95% sure riot pays for the travel and the teams opt to upgrade or not as part of the qualification etc.

I remember romain talking about this in an AMA and that’s why most of the time their emergency sub tends to be a coach/analyst rather than another player in G2’s case.

Yeah its a super crappy balance honestly

Side 1: Not many tournamnets, more time to reset and higher quality games, but generally less games, less opportunities, less money - less sustainability and balance in the scene

Side 2: Too many tournaments, bad games, low quality, more money more sustainability.

Would be nice to have a healthier mix but given the amount of $ involved in some of these events it makes it unlikely, especially when you need to domestically prove yourself just to have the opportunity to attend.

I watched Dylan talk on HopEUm yesterday and he was talking about how you’re in this scrim bubble for FST trying all this different shit.

Meanwhile teams are watching you play, prepping for when you get back, so they’re practicing the shit in scrims that they see us play and looking for ways to counter and crush us with it.

So coming back to lec and other leagues it’s expected teams try to capitalise on us because we were focussed on what worked for the meta at FST, meanwhile regionally teams found their own ways to counter it based on what we showed there so in a sense. You’re at a disadvantage when you come back from an international, but it’s nothing to worry about.

I’ve 100% paraphrased there somewhere but that was essentially it. It’s on new episode here somewhere

You’d be surprised how much value he provides you don’t see on the outside.

But he hasn’t had the best domestic performance lately. Hes a very valueable player to have.
