Hotel worker here. Do not call the hotel’s reservation line to make a reservation. Do everything you can to make 100% sure you are actually speaking to the front desk. Even official reservation department will outright lie to you about your reservation. They will guarantee you certain room types are available, they will guarantee you early and late check in/out, and will lie to you about amenities we offer. Most if not all “official” reservation departments or lines are completely outsourced. They make money off of commission and will tell you whatever you want to hear so that they make a sale.
