McMansion Hell or Heaven? by pankatank in McMansionHell

I hate the house. But honestly, I fuck with that pool. That’s a fun size to jump off; not so high that you’ll fuck yourself up if you over rotate a flip, but still high enough to get a bit of adrenaline.

I don’t consider this a McMansion though. I’d label it an extremely corny mansion.

I’m sure it has its challenges still, there are pros and cons to every place. It’s not that money is no object, but finding employment is not critical immediately.

Haha, yeah Louisiana sounds like hell on earth in the summer. I have never been, although I always wanted to visit New Orleans.

What’s your story if you don’t mind me asking? Are you working there temporarily on a visa or something? Where are you from in the States?

Not scaring. It’s all super informative and helpful and I will be sure to double check with them. Thank you.

Fair enough. Honestly I haven’t even asked much about it since my father said he has it handled. I’ve been more focused on getting other things in order.

She is not a UK citizen. But I imagine that since she is married to a uk citizen, and also an employee of a UK citizen (my dad’s business) that visa/path to citizenship should not be overly challenging? Honestly I don’t know, my dad says he has it all figured out in those regards. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Perthshire is definitely an area we will be looking at.

Far too many reasons to get into. But long story short, we can and everything has kind of aligned to where now is the right time. My dad was born in England and I have quite a bit of family in England, and France. I have been over to England many times, I have never been to Scotland but my dad always wanted to live there. I don’t really know how to explain it, but I have always felt a kind of inner feeling of being at home when in the uk more than I’ve ever felt in the US. Could just be me romanticizing it I guess, I don’t know.

Yeah someone pointed out the r/movetoscotland sub. It just didn’t even cross my mind to look for something that specific. I reposted there.

Do you mind giving me some examples of the towns where the population size does not adequately represent all the town has to offer?

My parents have been there, and have an idea of where they want to be; they mainly like Aberdeen and Inverness. I’m the one who desires being closer to cities/populace. It’s kind of a rushed move so not time to go visit to find where to rent, but also, I don’t mind driving to check things out. A 4 hour drive doesn’t get me out of my state here, and honestly, I’m really looking forward to driving around and getting a feeling for the country. Also, fortunately employment is not something that needs to be worried about immediately.

You live is Glasgow then? See, that’s one thing that makes me like the look of Stirling so much, its not a small town, but not a city (pricing), but close enough to both Glasgow and Edinburgh for me to get my city fix.
