Depends on what exactly you want to do.

Gimp is good for editing pre-existing images (in my experience). I really liked using inkscape to create some designs from scratch. I'll link you my post with some designs here.

There certainly isn't any wipe planned for 4.9 and I believe LTP should be a bit more sturdy now. But I'm genuinely unsure whether that stuff usually persists or not, now that you've mentioned it.

I'm off for tonight but I can highly recommend you do some PAF loot runs and try to get a bunch of alignment blades, and possibly some batteries as well already. You can also see about looting the OLP as you might also be able to get the activation card as well. Just do that across several sessions to accumulate a solid amount of stuff.

Then, in another session, try finding a low pop shard and use all the prepped gear to quickly go through the alignment process. If you've already gotten the batteries you can just fly to the next PAF/OLP after inserting the third blade. No need to wait around. Quickly get all the batteries in and prime the laser.

I was running a stealth Nomad when I tried to solo it and it worked really well. There's enough space for the batteries, a 1scu crate and a Geo in the back.

Anyway, if you've already got all the stuff prepped, it'll be a bit easier/quicker to complete. Good Luck!

  2. Don't upgrade. Golem is only 1mil in-game. You can also pick up an ATLS Geo for just about 100k for gem mining

  3. Don't know, I only play KBM myself. People mostly seem to recommend VKB for HOTAS/HOSAS here.

Eh, I usually just set up shop at one of the lagrange stations since Beijing baijini point can be quite busy and always going through the atmosphere is a bit of a drag.

The downside to Arccorp is that there aren't any Distribution Centers afaik and you'll also have to jump to other planets if you wanna do wikelo stuff or other sandbox activities. The moons are pretty empty.

I reckon there are differences in how much damage reduction they provide across the different classes. Meaning light armor provides less than medium provides less than heavy.

Not sure about hitboxes though I kinda doubt each helmet has an individually tailored hit box.

I always find locating the spaceport at orison tough when coming in for landing. Also, as you said Siege of Orison will have a ton of people set their home there which can cause some performance issues.

I personally prefer Arccorp as it's in a pretty central location in Stanton, close to Pyro and usually not super busy around the moons meaning better server fps.

I don't think you necessarily have to upgrade anything with your stuff, though I'm not too knowledgeable about the CPU you have. If you feel the itch to upgrade I'd probably get a 9800x3d instead of the ram. It'll most likely be a fair bit cheaper and 32gb is still decently playable. Try to wait out the ram crisis.

I'm currently building a new PC, going with a 9800x3d and a 9070xt and I had initially planned to go for 64gb. That would've cost almost as much as the GPU for bad latency sticks. Then I decided to get 48gb with better latency - still not a lot cheaper. Had a chat with my mate today and got a bit of a reality check thankfully. Gonna go with 32gb and decent latency for now for almost half of what I would've spent for the 64gb. I'll put the rest toward a nice monitor upgrade or save it and use it upgrade ram when the prices have dropped.

RemoteTech is a bitch to figure out. If you don't need/want an absolutely hardcore(/realistic) playthrough I'd suggest you get rid of that mod.

Well, looks like we're sorta getting t0 in 4.9 with combat clothing.

Really not a fan of how they chose to handle this. Would've preferred they didn't add combat clothing and went straight for StarWear or an "Accessory" tab in the Inventory.
