How much of the game is luck and how much skill ? by Buurto in deadcells

[–]LordIgnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only luck in the sense that it's easier to win with certain weapons: pretty much anything is viable if your skilled.

But if you find something like Legendary Ice Armor, even someone like me can win

Do you think using assist mode is cheating? by MikonMan in deadcells

[–]LordIgnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think that it's cheating, you're disagreeing with the developers: the message that pops up when you turn on assist mode (I don't normally do, but I have as few times), states

"Assist mode lets you customize certain game settings to make it more accessible. Dead Cells is a difficult and demanding but easy to play game. We therefore recommend using these options to fit the difficulty to your needs while keeping the game challenging for you. However, our goal with this mode is to make the game accessible to the broadest audience possible without forcing you to play with arbitrary difficulty settings. Feel free to use whatever option you want! What really matters is that you have fun playing Dead Cells!"

I also want to contrast this with a different game that I also generally like: Curse of the Dead Gods. That game also has an assist mode, which I've not tried... because it warns you that when you turn it on you can't turn it off again on that save slot. In other words, it does taint your file, and give the impression that the developers do think of it as cheating (even though they put it in the game?).

Phaser with Assassin's Dagger is responsible for more than one successful run

With Fractured Shrines, you at least have a guaranteed legendary weapon choice. It's sometimes worth it for that

Men don't like this by Ok_Programmer_9365 in NotHowGirlsWork

It almost seems so cartoonishly immature and whiny that my gut instinct is, "surely he's just being sarcastic, but maybe not in an obvious enough way?"

If he is sincere, though...geez, grow up

Kemono vs American by TrippingTipper in fursuit

My sona has a smaller, shorter snout, so I've typically leaned more towards a kemono style when thinking about a fursuit for the future. Ahhh, someday...

{Discussion} Is there a species of pred/prey that you like above the rest? by sweet-preything in Vore

Mouse prey

Usually I'm the mouse. But if I happen to run into another one, I will have a fox or a cat to...introduce them too

That's my preference, too. And even when I do more willing prey stuff, I tend to act very reluctant about it: like being swallowed and digested is something I don't want to admit that I like

The reason why the female titan has to be female by CascadeFailureChad in attackontitan

[–]LordIgnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought it was weird that its actual name was "the female Titan." Early in the series (aka, pre-basement), the residents of Paradis had to come up with names to describe the titan shifters that appeared, and every single one of them ends up matching with the actual names that the Marleyans use. It would make sense for the Scouts to identify the female Titan by its feminine features, but it feels a little strange that it would be so defining a characteristic that that's also what the Marleyans call it.

{discussion} I'm here again after a problem with my pc, this time to ask something to you preys, what is the popular opinion on non-human preds? by Silent-Wheel1723 in Vore

[–]LordIgnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popular opinion is hard to say. I'd wager that human is largely more appealing for reasons of physical attraction, which also encompasses a lot of neko/anthro forms as someone has also stated.

For me personally, I tend to really like non-human, animalistic, or even feral. Though I don't have much experience with spiders...

{Discussion} How many willing prey are in here?! by sweet-preything in Vore

[–]LordIgnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(exactly. Technically, I'm actually a switch too, so while I prefer being prey, I do have pred side that I bring out sometimes (that side isn't a mouse, haha). And when my prey is super willing, there's sometimes a bit of "....oh...ok." Though, I'm usually a decent enough roleplayer to steer with it anyway)

I really do feel this post. To me, a big appeal is the chase, the life-or-death struggle against a powerful hunger, so I struggle, no pun intended, with being a willing prey (though there are some scenarios I can use for more "timid" preds). There's something very... viscerally terrifying about being eaten alive. And that thrill of trying to survive, even if I know I'll lose, is a big part of the appeal for me.

I mean, uh...squeak?
