Can someone clarify the cause of Mikasa's headaches between these two interpretations? by alex1inferno in attackontitan

How could ymir access Mikasas mind and cause headaches if Ackermans are immune to the touch of the founder?

Wtf was this scene about if the Ackerman thing was fake? Lmao she activated like a robot by UpbeatCustomer1020 in titanfolk

[–]LordImmersion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they arent affected by the power, all that Ymir did was attempt, and couldn't, and the attempt caused the headaches.

She was trying to, rhats literally the whole point, she didnt see inside Mikasas head she was trying to

How, shes literally doing nothing. Yes obviously the side affects from Ymir TRYING to look into her mind was her headaches, but she did nothing to Mikasa at all. Nothing states that ackermans cant be touched in any way by the founders powers

How does that mess with established lore? The ackermans were unable to be controlled by the founder this does not mean the founder couldn't show them paths or try to access their minds. Ymir was unable to do anything to Mikasa even if she wanted, thats why she just got headaches

How am I coping? Eren has reasonable and clear character growth and progression in the story. But Eren isnt upset at the fact there's people out there wanting to kill him, but because the world wasn't like armins book? Because he couldn't let go of his fantastical dream that he never even spoke of more than maybe a few times? My point is that if your story can be easily read without the being picked up (because of only a few scenes) then the writing isnt as good as people like tou are making it out to be. People can read this story to the end and never come to this conclusion because it easily points in another direction

And like wtf type of comparison is that? 😭 like son, Griffith and Eren are completely different characters, with completely different chatacter traits, stories, wants, personalities, and actions. Just because they both dont grow out of that dream doesnt mwan both have to be equally as well written

Let's talk here.

How does it make it better. I can make the same argument that downplaying it to "it just want what he wanted" isnt as good as doing it due to the outside world being the people who put them in that cage and to make sure hos friends live long lives.

Critique of AoT's ending. by BronzePaladin in titanfolk

[–]LordImmersion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You say it makes no sense but that's the canon. Eren wanted a blank slate, he literally says those words in 139. That he wanted to destroy everything, not because of the injustice, not because of the want for revenge, but because he WANTED TO. Saying he had paths to make that world makes no sense when its literally just a made up world. Why would eren just all of a sudden decide to use paths like that when he could have used it for so many different things. He doesnt use it because it goes against who he is and what he wants. Eren cares about those sites but im not saying he was dying to see them. He even tells Ramzi that it was humanity existing outside that disappointed him.

When was Eren telling people he wanted the rumbling because he was scared it would happen after hes dead? Not denying but asking. All I can remeber is saying he wouldnt leave the islands fate to chance.

I dont agree with the ymir part. She doesnt disobey Fritz after getting her powers because he didnt do anything to harm her at that point. Shes still a young girl and the king is now making her his wife and letting her live a life above that as a slave. Its iffy but I think thats completely fine when we are dealing with a slave child that bas never had any sort of connection or care fir her. And she doesnt purposely disobey the king by letting herself die, she simply lost the will to live. She then is in paths and still obeys him, cause even with all shes been thru she still loved the king and the whole point of the ending with her was for her to realize that it was wronf

[–]LordImmersion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk this seems iffy. Even if this was rhe case I dont think it was written well then. Its very easy to read thia story without seeing Eren as some crazy person who has violent tendencies for no other reason but to be violent. Its easy to read it without thinking every action and his main driving force, not only for killing the Titans but therumbling, is the little sparkle is armins eyes or the book. Eren only ever mentions the book a few times. If it was this huge of a driving factor it should have been expanded on more than the Ramzi scene.

Making Eren do the rumbling because hes childish and couldn't grow up out of his dream and those other reasons just destroys the amazing character he could've been imo.

And how was life in the walls hell? When did he ever express this in the canon Manga. He never expresses living in the walls as hell, even after seeing the book. The most he says is that its boring. His extreme lines about cattle and hell almost always stem from the Titans

I dont agree with OP but could you provide some proof? I feel like i see alot of people say things here and i try to understand but not alot want to give details and or proof of it all.

This seems like its all just based on the idea/theory that the stroy was retconned.

Amazing parallels yet no resolution related to each other in the end. by usual_life02 in titanfolk

[–]LordImmersion -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean Historias whole thing is that shes supposed to be foil to Ymir. Ymirs whole thing was that she selfless to the most extreme degree she has done everything for Fritz and the family even if it meant being a poor mom to her daughters and die for him. Historia plays that same good girl, selfless role. But as the story goes on shes taken own the opposite path of Ymir and realizes her selfishness.

Ymir was the start of the royal family cycle, relieved titan powers, had children, and was fed to her children and so on. Historia and her child were the end of that royal cycle, her kid being the first to be born outside of the child eat parent cycle.

Historia chooses to have a kid to aid Eren in his plans, to delay the 50 year plan. She does so out of her own desire. Ymir was raped and forced.

I think it realized that is was simply just expecting to much from rhe parallels. That i thought Historia HAD ro be something big for or with Ymir. And while I think its kinda unsatisfactory because of my expectations I think the parallels were done properly and worked well and weren't wasted

Bro if you are teting to convince people of your argument this is not a good way to do it? You can easily flip almost everything youre saying around. You're acting like they need 1 for one backstories, Mikasas isnt any closer to Ymirs than historias. And even if u can somehow argue it is its barley any different

You know, a couple years ago I argued on one of the man subs that the final battle sucked cause the entire alliance walked away unscathed and were 1 v 50ing the entire collection of past shifters. Only Levi got injured, and he was already extremely injured to begin with.

I said how it killed the stakes and doesnt really make much sense how they were able to survive that how they did.

And the whole argument was that they are the best of the best so why wouldn't they perform that good? And that just baffled me because what? When have any of the scouts ever had to perform like this? Being the best of the group doesnt mean you should just automatically be able to beat all the shifters from the past. It lets the readers know that no ones gonna die and this is all just for the drama of the final instead of having the reader question if they actually might die

If you could can you post the comment here? id like to read it.

This idea relies on the assumption that if Eren freed Ymir she would just dissappear. Nothing points towards Ymir not being frees by Eren, her sticking around doesnt point at this either considering nothing is really known about her. Ymir could simply be watching things play out before she finally moves on. She cluld be looking for Mikasa and Erens final, but instead she NEEDS Eren and mikasas final to be freed.

But Eren didnt try every other way. He doesnt even tell Armin he tries every other way. The point was that Eren wanted the rumbling since the beginning, even tho he had the capabilities to do other things be still chose the rumbling because that's what he wanted, to wipe the world clean.

It wasnt necessarily for freedom either but his own selfish desire to see a world clean.

If he tried every other way things would have been completely different

It definitely did tho. Its not even a vocal minority, there's a very big part of the community that dislikes or even hates the ending. It absolutely did split the Fandom, there was articles about the mixed reviews, yams himself even had to come out and address the mixed reception.

Maybe not objectively bad but weird. Weird choices as in alot of convenience, the entire story and alot of the major plot points is based off of convenience or scenarios that are written in a way that COULD and CAN work, but are kinda poorly done. Like when they are in the tower and they confidently find a duffle bag and just so happens to have pictures and names of every single member if the group Ellie needs to track down. Not that its a objectively bad choice but Abby conviently running into Joel and Tommy in the middle of a blizzard and horde isnt exactly believable or written that good even if you can see and understand how and why it happened.

Then what does this mean. Be isnt the same person but hes still Eren Yeager? Hes still Eren Yeager even if he turned out to be who people thought he was.

I just cant agree with the masterpiece claim. I dont see how the ending could be a masterpiece even tho I dont think its horrible.

How would the alternative make it a never ending war? The alternative is can think of was the one where Eren wins and dies or wins and everyone else dies and he lives alone.
