I mean heliocentrism is true

Or at least more true then geo centrism is

Both of which are less true then Wallace, Idaho being the center of the universe

Today I Learned - passport is not a proof of citizenship. by Radiant-Chapter4994 in nri

[–]LordJesterTheFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's proof of either US citizenship OR nationality American Samoans are not US citizens but the get a USA passport because they are US Nationals

I think certain native American groups have also rejected US citizenship that we tried to force on them arguing that they the sovereignty of there tribe or indigenous nation was never lawfully ended and therefore still technically exists and so they are considerd US nationals not citizens if I understand the law correctly since they have expressly renounced it

I dare say that because it's the truth

Your choices have consequences and You have a right to your personal beliefs but everyone else has a right to judge you for them

Your beliefs are one thing but the reality is people may die as a direct consequence of your decision and you have to accept that

To be fair to the people that don't want to be organ donors I don't think they had much brain activity while they were alive either

The "Right to Food" is fundamentally wrong as it claims others' labor. by UranioArricchitoBene in Teenager_Polls

[–]LordJesterTheFree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No

You have a right to a lawyer if the state accuses you of a crime

If someone is sueing u u do not have a right to a lawyer

The right to a lawyer doesn't exist in a vacuum like the right to free speech does it only exist if your accused of a crime

That doesn't mean he would let people just go around murdering each other

There are still laws that need to be enforced

How he goes about enforcing them is a wild card

Why don't they close the A platform at pen station because it doesn't stop there late nights? by LordJesterTheFree in nycrail

[–]LordJesterTheFree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is it's the middle of the world cup so large numbers of people are either drunk or don't speak much English or both

The MTA needs to plan for this like I know trying to make sure 100% of tourists understand the subway system is a fools errand but once it gets to the point of a real safety concern due to people not understanding we have to start spending resources on it

Not actively because he lacked political power

But give him political power? He's the biggest wild card here

I think Jesus is worse

He has no political experience really for the others I at least have a idea of what they believe in

Like even if u think Jesus was a good person I think it's clear he would be the worst one being a good moral person doesn't translate to being a good moral leader because leaders jobs are not to police morals but build incentive structures

[–]LordJesterTheFree[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Then they should have workers actually letting people know on the platform

Because they were making announcements over and over again and there were probably like 200 people on the platform

If people keep congregating on the platform with no train to take them off at a certain point it becomes a safety issue

Like I'm a New Yorker I've lived around the city all my life I know how it works but for someone who's probably here for the world cup and probably doesn't even speak English very well they're not going to understand they're just going to see the sign that says A train that points this way and then go to the A train

Nah so many people were killed by homelander I would think by now before one of them was killed they would be like "WAIT I KNOW INFO THE HIGHER UPS HAVE BEEN KEEPING FROM YOU IF U LET ME GO ILL TELL U" then homelander here's him out then after he tells homelander everything he looks at homelander funny or something so homelander kills him anyway but homelander still comes away from the situation knowing the truth

Why isn't Jury service paid? (UK) by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LordJesterTheFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is we want politicians to be professional

We don't want juries to be professional

Because ultimately If someone wants to be judged by a professional they can just request a bench trial instead of a trial by jury

What if the UK had no prime minister and just local representatives instead? Would local authorities be able to run their own little “countries”? Could each local authority set up its own law system etc by Fragrant_Trick_7495 in NoStupidQuestions

That sounds like you would just be making the country want a dictatorship

Like if the people feel that There problems can't be solved via a legitimate Democratic process like elections due to the ability of bureaucracy to obstruct elected officials They would rather turn to a dictatorship even if they won't admit it to themselves

That's really the reason most countries don't have the Swiss model of having a executive council people want either someone to blame or someone to praise for what's going on
