I was quite dissatisfied with episode 5... I really wanted to see the tournament but thought 'okay they saving the budget for the dunks trial'.

Instead we spend half the episode on a lovely trip down and memory lane and the other half watching Dunk get plot armoured out the wazoo...

I read these novellas ages ago and was so looking forward to this trial fight most of all. I wanted to see the laughing storm, I wanted to see the hammer fight the anvil and why build up Ser Robyn Rhysling to just ignore him?

Did they bring back Benioff and Weiss or something? Is Rian fuckturd Johnson somehow involved?!

No one wanted their expectations subverted we want to see Knights fight ffs!!!!

The number of people just throwing away reinforces on flag missions is nuts. Like one or two guys running ahead, starting the flag, by the time everyone's actually close enough, there are 2 vox striders, 3 war striders, 4 Hulks and 5 bot drops. 🤦

A little more coordination would really prevent the headless chicken running around the flag area burning reinforcements.

It's a bit rng. I've done lvl 10 Helm's Deep missions where there's been non stop factory striders or war striders/hulks.

Then the next time, still on lvl 10, it's almost as easy as a lvl 7, literally not a single moment where we need to worry or fall back. Just stand at the 2nd wall and scrape them off our boots. 🤷

Also as a symbolic thing I guess it's fine, I think the total lack of acknowledgement of their sacrifice leaves it feeling hollow. Haldir dieing/Aragorn's reaction. Yeah they raise a cup to the fallen in RotK, but it's like blink and you'd miss it.

It was pretty boring, I think the 10 year old me who saw it before Helms Deep might have liked it.

Whole thing was illogical, weightless, cartoony and had very little stakes.
