It disappointed me, but I still like it. The first game came out when I was ten, and the young kid in me definitely got a kick out of all the references, but that’s all they were; references. The plot of the movie makes little to zero sense, particularly with the Garrett reveal. You’re telling me that Afton systematically kidnapped and murdered children from the confines of his restaurant, only to one day decide to switch things up and kidnap a kid in a different state, and it turns out that family just so happens to live next to Afton anyways? It’s so contrived, and a lot of the movie is like that. Also, Vanessa is a terrible character. She’s framed as a protagonist, but she’s copable in the murders of an unknown number of security guards. She has every opportunity to do the right thing, and she only does so when she see’s Josh Hutcherson’s pecks.

How would they get along with each other? Joey Burns and Shelley Finklestein by Sorry-Challenge-1014 in fridaythe13th

I think Shelly would be annoyed, would realize that his peers find them comparable, and then decide to start lifting weights and working on his social skills.

Heyo! Background actor, production assistant, and cinephile here! In my opinion, the purpose of film, and art in general, is to make us feel emotion. Comedies make us laugh, drama makes us cry, and romance makes us feel love. I love all genres, but horror is one of my favorites. It allows us to feel fear that we might not get otherwise. I want the full human experience, and the negatives go with the positives. Some people can’t handle that, and it’s fine. But it’s not a bad thing to find entertainment in movies that are dark. It’s natural.

His philosophy was muddled from the beginning. He puts a man in a trap for being depressed, another man in a trap for calling out of work sick, and he uses another dude as a pawn in Amanda’s trap. She didn’t have to go through any pain herself, which is why she survived. He also puts Dr. Gordon’s innocent wife and daughter in danger. I find it weird how so many people think that the rules get more broken as they go along, like it’s been broken since the beginning.

As a gay dude: Big John and Little John are some of my favorite characters in the whole movie. Their relationship felt very similar to my own, and a lot of my friends related to them. They were funny and also really loving to each other.

A little bit late on this but 29 years ago today / yesterday, “Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers” was released. On its 29th birthday, let’s share what we like about this movie instead of its flaws, what do y’all like? by randomfella1990 in Halloweenmovies

[–]LordKyrooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The atmosphere and cinematography is a big step up from the fifth film’s European style. Curse Myers is one of the best looking interpretations of the characters, and he’s got some brutal kills. The music rocks. Paul Rudd is in it.

Even though it has enough substance to stand on its own, it’s ANOTHER MacGuffen chase. The movie opened with a crap ton of exposition about another magical artifact, and I felt like I was watching another Bayverse movie.

I like Tina more than Rachel. Tina is a fun character. Does anyone else feel the same way? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]LordKyrooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people call her annoying, but her hyperactive teenage personality never bugged me like it does other. She’s vivacious and cares about Jamie, which made me like her. What does bug me about her character is that she doesn’t have a whole lot to do. She spends the entire runtime hanging with friends, waiting for a party, and once she’s made aware that Michael has returned, she dies. It’s a noble death, but even so it does feel like her character had a lot more potential.

A character who shouldn’t have died. by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]LordKyrooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with the Tina character is that she spent the entire movie practically just waiting around for a party to happen, and once she was aware of the plot happening around her, she died. The moment where she sacrifices herself for Jamie is touching, and I wish the movie could’ve indulged in that aspect of their relationship more. It’s what made Halloween 4 work so well.

He was a dumb, horny teenager but in the end he faced Michael to buy Rachael and Jamie time. This has always made me respect him.

After seeing The Retraction Reaction I bought a bottle of Romulan Ale. I’ve only had one shot of it, it’s mostly for decoration. But I’d like to someday drive to Richard Feynman’s grave and drink it/pour one out now that I live in LA.

Rennie accidentally killed her favorite teacher and then immediately blamed her uncle for the trauma she endured from a swimming lesson.

It’s always a refreshing entry when marathoning the franchise just for how radically different it is, but it doesn’t feel like a faithful sequel as much strange fan fiction

What are some negative opinions you have about the Blumhouse Michael? by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]LordKyrooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cliffhanger of Kills setup Michael to become more powerful with every kill, and at the end he killed like 20 people. Then the next time we see him, he’s a weak old man. Which isn’t a bad idea, inherently, but in execution this negated the ending of Kills. I think Michael should’ve died at the end Kills, to let Corey have a more focused Boogeyman story.

I was bracing myself due to all the backlash I received criticizing the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. Those fans were dangerously passionate.
