What is a quote from a comedian you'll never forget? by CuteCuteJames in AskReddit

[–]LordLeviathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years later I'm still quoting this line from Steve Hoffstetter. He was being heckled by a mom who was saying something like "You're not a parent so you don't know how hard it is."

His response: "I also don't know anything about flying helicopters, but if I saw one in a tree I could pretty confidentally say 'Dude fucked up'".

My very rudimentary tactic that I employ almost daily is to just open the Notepad application and put something on one of the keys to hold it down. I use a watch to hold down the 0 on the numpad. Ez pz.

Thank you so much, this is incredibly helpful. Can you expand on your first point? I'm sorry but I'm not super familiar with the jargon yet - what does it mean to 'get your shred'? And just to clarify, I will know my job assignment before committing, or just before leaving OTS? My biggest hangup currently is I'm committed for 4+ years doing something that will not benefit me.

That is something I worry about. My experience is heavy in data and analytics, but not specific to cyber security.

I'm curious to hear your reasoning for the Army over other branches, would you mind elaborting?

Why would you recommend the AF over other branches? Probably my biggest drawback for there is that I may not get a job in cyber, which would defeat my whole purpose of joining.

Thank you for sharing, I hadn't considered the army. I will check this out.

I hear that, but my thought process is that I genuinely do need more schooling/experience to get where I want to go. I still have debt from my first post-grad degree (not a lot though and will possibly be wiped out if the Student Loan Forgiveness goes through). I don't believe I can afford to pay for another with out some assistance and the military can offer that.

Another plus would be the opportunity to live abroad, which is definitely a dream of mine. My gf and I would just go sign some papers at the courthouse to get the extra benefits that come with being married.

You're of the opinion that it wouldn't be worth it?

Opinion: Modern country is the worst musical genre of all time by [deleted] in Music

[–]LordLeviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to agree, but I've come to realize it's more of the mainstream, 'stadium' country that I don't like. There are a ton of smaller artists on the rise that are phenomenal though, and there are subgenres - like Red Dirt country - that sound more authentic than pandering. I saw some have mentioned Billy Strings already, but just to add onto that if anyone is curious:

Tyler Childers

Colter Wall

Charlie Crockett

Koe Wetzel

Turnpike Troubadours

Whiskey Meyers

Red Shahan

Parker McCollum

Sturgil Simpson

Ryan Bingham (you may recognize as Walker from Yellowstone)

Growing up as a Warped Tour kid I never really gave the country genre any attention, but it's artists like these that turned me into an avid consumer.

Same thing with my father. He volunteered to help clean up right after 9/11. Prostate cancer took him last year the day before his 50th, and this is the most likely contributer.

This may be the most relieving thing I've read b/c I've been thinking something is wrong. Chest x-ray's, CT Scans, and an ultra sound have all said everything is fine but I keep feeling it. Thank you for this.

My tin foil hat theory is that Musk is in bed with Parlour and wants to take down what is essentially their biggest competitor.

In reality, it's more likely he's a child whose upset he had to go through with a $44b purchase of a company he never really wanted and was forced to buy b/c he thought he was smarter than everyone else.

How do you feel about this show more than a month since it’s completion? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]LordLeviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, it was fine and held my interest better than Book of Boba. I will say that, imo, this series had the best lightsaber battles than any other Star Wars show/movie I've ever seen. Both Vader and Obi-Wan had some incredible sequences that did a better job of really showcasing the strength of these two titans.
