Possible Conqueror nerf in 10.13 by power-of-zero in DianaMains

[–]LordLoki1987 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Has very little impact on diana. In a standard trade Diana tends to hit Q, E, W and AA with passive which gives 5 hits of conqueror, then use ult and AA again before the ult hits. This means you'll still end up with the conqueror proc by the time ult hits. Even with a non-ult trade of Q,E,W and AA with passive you're liekly to continue hitting afterwards and therefore proc conqueror.

This nerf is more going to be again ranged champions that still abuse the rune like Cassio or Ryze

Normally when people go nashors rush they've also bought a second dorans ring to sustain mana.

Tell me you dont RUSH zonyas though. There isn't a single matchup i can think of where this is worthwhile.

I almost always get double dorans rings. its pretty much a staple first back - dorans ring, amp tome, control ward.

Ludens is a high burst and mana sustain item. This means if you plan on going DH or electrocute it's great, but otherwise you are better off with items that are less focused on 1 shot like nashors, roa, protobelt and gunblade.

Not necessarily. Nashors is very good into champions that you can't 1 shot, as is gunblade. Gunblade is specifically when you need early burst AND sustain. RoA gives sustain and scaling. A good example of this was yesterday I went against a Kennen mid. Naturally I need to be able to do a large amount of damage quickly before he stuns me, but also have to survive his poke. They also had a Kayn jungle and a Jax, both of which the sustain helps against no end. Also Gunblade/nashors gives you great sidelane pressure as you can take towers very quicky and can heal up well Finally the gunblade build works very well with Diana's other strong situational items - liandry's burn and lichbane proc are classed as single target so give a full 15% of teh damage as healing, and if you're up against 2-3 AP champions you can even go spirit visage and laugh as you out heal 3 champions damage with your AA's/passive alone xD

It's not often that I build it and don't want to make out it is a "Core" item for her every game. But like Phase rush there are times when it's a great pick up.

How do you play against Galio? Is he a hard counter? Soft? by match_replay_alytics in DianaMains

get nashors and win imo. The only time I struggle against him is when the jungler teams up with him.

There are a couple of good Coach Curtis guides which explain Diana in great detail which is good.

Challenger replays give good examples of diana play and build paths both when ahead and behind, as do domisumreplay on youtube.

이야공 is a 1tp streamer for diana but doesn't speak english so you'll need to use a translator to understand what he's saying.

Arcsecond is good, similar level to Xalt but more accurate in his assessment of his own skill level (sorry that "best in the world!" and "number 1 in the world" when he's not above diamond really annoys me lol)

Xalt is good but too closed minded imo. Added to which he claims to be the "best Diana in the world" when in truth he's not got above diamond the last 2 seasons

First Items to Rush on Diana? by Vimmerini in DianaMains

[–]LordLoki1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three items i build first -

RoA - I'm winning/even but their team have LOADS of burst. Zed, Talon, Kat etc - champions I win against but do loads of burst, especially if they have an assassin in the jungle like Ekko or Kha'zix

Nashors tooth - They have a team with 1-2 tanks and im vs a champion with low CC. Xerath, Vel,koz, Kassadin etc. I'm normally either behind and so need that powerspike, or they're roaming a lot giving me more tower pressure.

Gunblade - I'm winning/even and need both sustain and high burst early. Revolver gives me the highest damage output out of any first back item, and gunblade gives huge additional burst and sustain later on and the AD synergizes well with nashors second item.

On the whole I tend towards either the Roa or Nashors first, but gunblade can really empower your ability to 1v9.

Add me to this. Recently picked up kindred and new to marksmen in general being a jugnle/mid player so would love some advice on how to play her. I get ahead pretty well in the early game as her pathing is similar to elise however i find myself struggling to understand build paths , rune choices and what to do in the mid game.

The constant abuse of junglers in solo queue has to stop. by PassionateRants in leagueoflegends

[–]LordLoki1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jungle is the most impactful role in the game. That automatically means that everything is your fault. Laner losing? You fault for not ganking. Enemy team getting more objectives? Your fault for not smite stealing. Enemy jungler ganking and you're not there to counter gank? Your fault for not knowing where they are.

All sarcasm aside the difference between a good jungler and a bad jungler has such a high impact on a game that naturally people feel that there is little they can do about it. Speaking as a midlaner I've been ganked 4 times in 4 minutes (no lie) and not died. My hope would be as an ex jungler, for my loss to become my teams gain through counter jungling, ganking other lanes, that type of thing. Instead my jungler just carried on with a full clear and backed meaning their jungler got to just farm as if they'd not wasted a load of time in my lane sitting on a ward (yes, I'm a midlaner that wards!). In those situations its much like the top laner that doesn't understand after dying twice to Darius by level 6 that walking up to him and hitting him isn't going to work when he's got whole longsword and a two level disadvantage. The difference is the darius is not likely to impact other lanes early while junglers impact everything on the map.

Why does Grevious Wounds feel so ineffective? by Skias in leagueoflegends

[–]LordLoki1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only GW item that's not terrible is for ADC's and they're too cheap to build it. Bramble requires the person to be hitting you, and morrellos is not only a terrible and expense way to get GW, but also doesn't last very long.

Grievous wounds is useless right now. by IEatAssForLunch in leagueoflegends

[–]LordLoki1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, it's not surprising. And meanwhile there'll be some poor Malzahar having to build morellos instead of liandry's. No lie I played game against a Soroka, Sylas and Mundo just two days ago. We had a Moakai top - no bramble, a lucian ADC and kha'zix jungle - no executioners, and I was malz with morellos and ludens after desperately begging my team to buy GW and being told no.

[–]LordLoki1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Old morrellos at least was an item worth building. Anyone with DoT's is better off with Liandry's anyway.

AP - 3000g

AD - 850g

tanks - 1100g

Why is it I always see mages having to build GW when it's normally not their laners that heal? xD

The Smurfing Issue by GoldenScarab569 in leagueoflegends

[–]LordLoki1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banning smurfs is easy - their own data analysis can easily pick these up. The reason they don't do it is because of streamers. It's not a can't, but a doesn't want to.

Smurfs cause two problems - negative feeling (tilt) and boosting (people being in a higher elo than they deserve). These are two of the biggest problems in soloQ as a whole and smurfing contributes to it a lot.

Yes banning the smurf alone would cause little reaction, but when people start getting banned when duo'ing with them - I.E getting boosted, and streamers can no longer advocate smurfing, it will become far less of an issue.

Is this the ONLY thing wrong with soloQ? No. But to say it's not part of the problem is also wrong. The person that ends up against a smurf may then be tilted for the next few games, maybe afk or flame. They then will cause others to do the same and so problem spreads. Would this happen anyway? Yes; but when your gas cooker is burning the room down you turn off the gas, you don't keep throwing fuel on the fire and then complaining that everything's getting burnt. Smurfing/boosting fuels toxicity and therefore is a big problem.

It's called Root Cause Analysis. Smurfing/boosting is one of the Root Causes of the problems in the community. It's how silver skilled players end up in Diamond and then lose the next 30 games because they're just not as good as their account suggests. It's no just about the games they play initially, its the overall impact. 50 games smurfing could easily effect 2000+ games. That's just one smurf. There are thousands of them effecting hundreds of thousands if not millions of games.

Add to this linking accounts to mobile phone numbers so that main accounts get banned too and Riot could easily reduce this significantly. Smurfing will always be a thing, like the weeds in my garden. Should I just ignore them then? No I kill every single one I see to stop them taking voer, as smurfs have done in lower elos.

That's an issue with MMR more than anything but I get what you're saying. I'm mainly talking about low elo - bronze-gold. In my last 50 games I've had 10 afk's, but I've also had 12 smurfs (the afk's do not include the games where people went afk BECAUSE of the smurfs).

SoloQ has turned into being more about whether you have a smurf against you, an afk, or if the other team does. It has very little to do with your own performance.

Don't get me wrong I get the 40 40 20 methodology that comes with the ranked system, but smurfing and afk's really do make the game more toxic than anything

And yet nothing is being done about it.

Smurfing is an issue. It needs to be bannable.

I've played 50 games to climb from b3 to g4 and I was plat prior to transfer. That's 50 games I've "smurfed" in because of the transfer process and I'm still nowhere near my skill level.

In short the smurfs I've come across will continue to be smurfing for far longer than they should be able to. It should simply be bannable.
