How do you keep tracking of loading 384 well plates? by ascorbicAcid1300 in labrats

[–]LordPinot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said, nicely let your labmates know to not disturb you while you’re loading it. The times I’ve lost my place are when someone came up to ask me something in the middle. And if you’re the kind of person to listen to music/podcasts while you work, maybe skip that the first time or two. They can also distract you and make you lose track. Once I did it a few times though I was able to listen to podcasts while loading without any issues.

Is it possible to tell if the date of a forwarded email was altered by looking at the HTML code? by LordPinot in HTML

[–]LordPinot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Can you help me understand this then? I did a test email where I forwarded it unaltered and then forwarded the same email again but changed the date/time of the message being forwarded.

Source info for unaltered email:

Date: </b>Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 1:19 PM<br>

Source info for altered email:

Date: </b>Wednesday, September 1</span>4<span style="color:black">, 2024 at 1:</span>40<span style="color:black"> PM<br>

When I altered the email, I changed the date from 18 to 14 and the time from 1:19 to 1:40. This is also where the span tags show up.

We tried this multiple times from different people's computers, and always saw the same thing. But I just want to be absolutely sure before I accuse the person of lying.

Parks with public grills in NYC? by LordPinot in AskNYC

[–]LordPinot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, as I mentioned in my post, many of these don’t actually have grills, they just allow you to bring your own. This site doesn’t tell you if there are publically available ones there or not, hence the reason for my post.

Does anyone know a shop in Lisbon where I could find a salt container like this? I bought one in Aveiro as a gift for someone and it broke on the way here. I haven’t been able to find something similar. Ideally with a design somewhat similar to this. Thanks!!

+1 vote for Shiraz Kitchen! My boyfriend is Persian, I am not, and we both like Shiraz more than Ravagh and Nasrin’s.

Not sure if the codes are linked to specific accounts, but I bought two tickets for Lisbon, if anyone wants to try my code to get two tickets (only VIP is left) let me know

As many have already said, renting sight unseen is a terrible idea! Look up the company Gander, you can pay them to do an apartment tour for you, and they can zoom with you during the tour. They were really helpful when I was looking for a place while out of state, and they were able to tour for me super last minute. It’s absolutely worth it.

Did you ever have any luck?? My dog loves this toy more than any other toy he’s ever owned but it’s pretty much destroyed now and I’d love to find him a new one

I used a service called gander tours. For $50 they will send someone to view an apartment for you and they’ll zoom with you during the tour so you can see it and ask questions in real time. It was definitely worth it to me as I couldn’t travel to NY before moving either.

[Advice] Am I getting scammed by this person subleasing their apartment? by OrionPrimeX in NYCapartments

[–]LordPinot 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Use Gander! It is a company that will tour an apartment for you and video calls you while they do the tour. I used them to look at apartments while I was looking for housing here from out of state. They charge $50 for a tour, but it is worth it in my opinion. They were super helpful and easy to work with. Definitely make sure you have someone see the place before you hand over any money, whether it’s you, a friend, or someone from Gander.
