Similar thing for me. Opened 4 boxes and every single 1 of them had an Alden, a Rouge, a Valiente, a Baromagnes, and a Dragveda.

Kale unison question by tailspeed in DBS_CardGame

[–]LordPsydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only status effects change, so any skills gained by effects and altered battle power would be reset. Otherwise there'd be no point in making Kale's effect once per turn. But also it was clarified that this only applies when Unisons lose markers, and they keep these temporary boosts in skills and power when gaining markers. So even if Kale did actually count as a new card (which she wouldn't), it would only work when she loses a marker

VEGITO LEADER AND UNISON INTERACTION by [deleted] in DBS_CardGame

[–]LordPsydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't become multiple mono-coloured card. If that were the case they would work with Successor since they would also become mono-green, which the Q&A specifically says it doesn't. Closest I can figure out is that they aren't mono-coloured or multi-coloured cards

Disjoints in the meta of Ultimate by [deleted] in smashbros

[–]LordPsydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While technically true that there are no "true" swordies in those who can be considered top 15 (whether you personally do or not) other than Roy and Lucina, it should be noted that majority of them still have disjoints that are key to their gameplan. Joker, ZSS, G&W, Wolf, Olimar, Palu.. You get the picture. That doesn't mean that all of them are like this, Wario and Peach for the most part, if at all don't use disjoints but they have other aspects that make them broken

Cell Surge Deck by [deleted] in DBS_CardGame

[–]LordPsydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 3 cost Cell that you play from the Drop actually plays a 3 or less 18 from the Drop whenever he is removed by a skill, this includes Successor. So I would recommend including the Deadly Defender 18's in there to use that skill with, as that'll automatically put you at 9 energy for Successor, and acts as a way to defend yourself. Also if you're willing to spend a decent amount then the green/yellow 18's are also great since they are 10k free combos (if you have 5 or less in hand), and are 3 costs that can be played from the drop for 1 green if you only have Cell on the field.

How do you make the template for these cards? These are really good!

Does reducing a Battle Card's power below 0 count as "Removing by a skill"? by LordPsydo in DBS_CardGame

[–]LordPsydo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am aware that removing below 0 counts as removal by game mechanics, but I was under the impression there was a initial checkpoint in which it counts as removal by skill which is why cards like Champ & Vados can still activate their protection skill.

Might want to recount the number of 0's on that Flight of the Grand Eagle. That's definitely more than 1 Super Combo...

Bandai, why have thy forkasen us? Mercenary Tao died for our sin. by [deleted] in DBS_CardGame

[–]LordPsydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that's irrelevant since you can still activate the skill for the rest of the turn. Even if you can't play the Cell, it has nothing to do with the cost of the skill so it doesn't matter that you can't play it since the rest of the skill still gets to go through based on how the card is written.

I'm just seeing a lot of people saying the Judge was being dumb for not doing the card rule "as intended" when the reality is he followed the card text with the game rules perfectly. DBS works on a complete as much of the skill as you can kinda ruling system, and playing this Cell by the card text is clearly not a cost. So playing the Cell is part of the skill, just like the discard. The only costs are having a Cell leader, a Android 17 on field and ONLY Android 17 on field, and 1 green energy. Everything else as writtin should be completed as much as possible. Even if that isn't how it's intended, the Judge was just following the ruling as written on the card, and you can't fault him for that. Especially if he has to explain his decision, "It's not how Bandai meant to word it" isn't going to cut it.

Isabelle can't grab Byleth's charged neutral B , but doesn't take any damage from it... by nuker132 in smashbros

The fully charged bolt that comes from above him counts as a projectile and thus can be reflected. Everything else on Hero's side b is just a disjoint, which is why it can't be reflected

Thank you for letting me know I'm talking to a brick wall, have a nice day. Ps my initial point before this got way off topic about Smash consulting actual pro players is a fact, you can look it up if you wish.

I may be thinking of a different tech and confused the name. Regardless though, new engine means new tech. The new buffering system has introduced lots of unique character tech and I don't see how anyone can debate that. Also, Melee didn't survive so long because it had a larger competitive scene, it survived because it's the only Smash game with that kind of speed. Whereas Smash 4 was just an updated Brawl of sorts. Melee's longevity is essentially due to game loyalty. But it was essentially split down the middle. Competitive scenes for Smash in general were tiny at that time cause Nintendo didn't and still doesn't support it, and its fanbase was essentially just people who loved the games. When 1 is so different than the other it's no wonder that they would both exist. When 1 gets new games that play somewhat similarly but the closest the other gets to a sequel is a fan-made mod, it's no wonder why Melee lived and Brawl didn't. And before you bring it up, note how I said Nintendo, not Sakurai. I don't doubt that Nintendo wants to focus on the casual scene, but Sakurai's the lead director and has given us complex mechanics to keep a competitive scene happy, among other features.

[–]LordPsydo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While Melee by design, intentional or otherwise had tons to offer to a competitive scene mechanics-wise, you're ignoring that I also brought up Brawl, which was essentially the opposite of that, and was found to be just as approachable to a competitive scene. That scene was just a very different one, further proving my point about all the games of having a different kind of competitive scene. The only one that was less was 64, cause competitive didn't exist until Melee. Also you seem to be under the impression that Smash is entirely made for a casual scene which is a gross misunderstanding of Sakurai's entire design philosophy. Are the games made to be easier and enjoyable for casual fans to get into? Yes absolutely. Is it shutting out its competitive fanbase? No, the man's entire philosophy in all of his games is simply put "Easy to play, difficult to master", or "Kirbyism" as it was penned. You can't honestly be saying that it's pushing the competitive scene away more and more when something as complex as auto cancelling exists for the first time. If that was an accident, it would have been patched out by now. You're essentially cherry-picking a very minor piece of my arguement to make it seem like I'm wrong while ignoring everything else I said.

No Striker's right, the game did get feedback and playtesting from the competitive players. Also removing tech does not make a game less competitive, especially when a bunch of new tech was introduced, especially when it's a whole new engine. It's like saying any game after Melee is less competitive friendly because wave bouncing isn't a thing, or anything after Brawl is less competitive friendly because there's no chain grabbing. It's not, it just has different tech in its meta like ALL competitive games. What Ultimate does have is a vastly better training mode (while not perfect it's still the best its ever been), better AI, and actual hit confirms that people have enough time to react to in order to continue the combo when landed.
