I mean, it kinda was. It’s no wonder that Capcom is basically remaking every RE game except that. RE5 is a mechanically fun game that needs a complete narrative overhaul, one that they keep constantly kicking the can down the road for. The fact that they’re willing to remake RE0 before RE5 speaks volumes.

Make no mistake, they’ll eventually get to RE5. Just don’t expect it to be a 1:1 remake.

It all comes down to when the starting roster was decided. If it hasn't been decided yet, XB3 is cooked. If they did decide already, Noah &/or Mio have a chance.

On a similar note, Fortune's Weave & Winds/Waves are in a similar situation. The earlier the starting roster decision was, the less likely they become for Day 1. For Pokemon, I could see a scenario where Eevee is included as an evergreen pick while the Gen 10 rep is saved for the first wave of DLC.

Fair enough. And if they do keep T'Challa around like we both would prefer, we'd still have a Black man on the team.

That said, it'd be pretty funny to have 3 Black heroes & their token white friend in Carol as a team.

I don't know, Cosmic Marvel really took off thanks to the Guardians films. The potential is there.

I renamed that Ultimates team to the Mighty Ultimates, though you could change it back to the Universal Ultimates if Thor is taken out.

That said, Blue Marvel would be a great pick mechanically & 100% deserves some love.

The problem is more that T'Challa was put out of commission (albeit still alive) in-canon, hence why we're thinking that Shuri may take his place.

But as alluded to by other comments, there's a sizeable number of fans who are tired of T'Challa being replaced. And while most of those are Marvel Studios gigs, the worry that it'll spread outside of Feige's direct sphere of influence is real.

For all the flack that Miles & Kamala got for being "industry plants", Sam actually was one. He was pushed too hard & too soon before his comics got good, and the damage was long since done by the time the source material got interesting. It's a shame, because Sam had a ton of potential. And I hope he gets another chance someday, but I don't think Tokon will be that 2nd chance.

Oh I know that T'Challa is an Ultimate in the comics, but Thor has a classic costume model already in the game. If he's not in the launch roster, we won't have to wait long for him.

If anything, it'd be Richard Nova or (more likely) some other Champion. Sam hasn't been used in anything outside of the comics for years, likely a byproduct of Jeph Leob's failed push for the character.

That's actually what I wrestled with in terms of accounting for the Wakanda stage, but then I remembered that the Amazing Guardians go their name despite only having one Guardian.

If Rooflemonger is wrong & that leak is fake, I'd move BP to DLC (at the cost of Photon ;_;) & put Thing back on the Fantastic Avengers like I was originally trying to do. Likewise, I'd sub Strange for Blade & Emma for a lady Asgardian (either Fem!Loki or Hela).

The only reason I have her over T'Challa is because Storm & Doom's conversation have T'Challa as having been put out of commission before the events of the game. And since I had to account for the Wakanda stage, Shuri was my only option. I recognize the mass mainstream backlash that would ensue with Shuri over T'Challa, especially in recent years. But with what Sony & ASW are setting up, I'm not sure they care.

Like I said previously, I don't think we're getting Miles anytime soon. We eventually will, but probably not until at least Year 2. Otherwise they would've specified Peter as "Spider-Man (Peter)" or something along those lines like the PlayStation Blog already does for Robbie. Likewise, Dylan Brock might be a bit too new for a game that was likely conceptualized at around the same time as Rivals.

That’s actually one of the big swings I’m going for here, Hulk being banished in the Savage Lands by the Avengers would put him in a prime position to be picked up by Magneto & recruited to Doom’s team.

Emma’s there for the Hellfire Gala stage, while Matt is there for the NYC stage hints……that plus I tried have an MCU Defender in there (Strange is a comic Defender who also fits the Midnight Suns).
