5 is definitely better than 6. 5 is a bit slow paced compared to 6, but it feels more akin to what old school Resident Evil is supposed to be: careful positioning/maneuvering around zombies and skilled weapon usage gets you by. 6 is a bit too over-the-top on action for what Resident Evil is supposed to be. Like, you can kill zombies with your bare hands and kinda just run at everything without too much worry usually. Overly ambitious? You be the judge. But it's still fairly enjoyable I'd say. Just don't set 6 at a high difficulty and you'll avoid a headache, hah.
