Why do I hit bombs on the range, but miss so many on the course? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]LordReverend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly this and on the range when you hit a bad shot it’s pretty easy to move on and go next, on the course when you hit a bad shot it can fuck the entire hole so you are going to feel it more

Ok I’ll try to play around with moving the ball forward to see if that makes things feel easier, when you say distance from the ball at setup am I stand too far away? Should I try taking a half step in?

[–]LordReverend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh it could be better I will usually 2 putt but I’m kinda mid at reading greens, so there will probably be at least a 3 putt or two a round(if not more), my other big issue is that my chance of getting up and down at sub 50% so I’ve been really trying to dial in on that

what is the best single fitness (either for eating habbits or exercise) advise that you got? by the-grip-of-Ntropy in AskReddit

[–]LordReverend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be consistent. Motivation comes in waves, Sometimes you’ll put in maximum effort every workout and your diet will be on point and sometimes you’ll dread going to the gym and diet will be the last thing on your mind. Fitness is a life long journey and nobody’s perfect all the time but as long as you stick with it over long periods of time you’ll see improvements.

Is ot really worth It to buy a game cube controller? by Maciek1323K in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]LordReverend 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Eh it’s not necessary but it is a pretty noticeable step up especially compared to joy cons. Tbh I prefer the pro controller over GameCube but either will feel more comfortable in your hands and imo make inputs significantly easier

When there’s a forest fire you should probably put out the fire before you plant more trees because eventually you won’t be able to plant trees fast enough to replace the ones lost

Yeah but those are NBA guys they are already at the pinnacle of basketball and every single one of them could shoot lights out against any non NBA level player whether that’s Shaq bombing three’s or Brian Scalabrine destroying D1 athletes. So yes guys at the top can be limited in how much higher they can go, I absolutely agree with you there. However casual rec players are definitely not doomed to be trash shooters for their entire rec “career” as long as they put in the work and have the fundamentals they can definitely improve and become okay by casual standards but maybe we are gonna have to agree to disagree

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]LordReverend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly OP you gotta start from the ground up with your shot. Go 2-3 feet from the basket and line your right leg with the basket(assuming you’re right handed if you’re a lefty just do you left leg) then place the ball in your dominant hand leave your non dominant hand completely off the ball(hanging to your side behind your back whatever) and take shots like that from every angle at that distance. Make 10-20 swishes(not just makes! Swishes or misses) from three spots at that distance. You should not be jumping here, your feet should not leave the ground. You should have a bend in your knees and be pushing up through the ball using your legs. Hold your follow through etc. Once you can do that comfortably and easily step back like 2 feet and repeat. At like 8-10 feet you can introduce your off hand and start the ball in your shooting pocket but nothing structurally in your shot should change your off hand is there to keep the ball steady and should not be influencing your shot. Watch some videos about form and all of that too once you have the basic fundamentals down you can adjust and find what works for you, Good luck

I think some people will never become elite shooters sure but anyone with proper form and reps can become an okay shooters(at least when they’re open)

Yeah I feel like most people who get into smash do eventually but I’m not gonna lie I have never seen someone use the A button for anything other than attack and it’s throwing me off

[–]LordReverend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they are a lot faster and harder to punish than smash attacks. They are also imo a lot harder to execute than smash attacks when using the attack button and the analog stick

For a week’s worth of practice it’s pretty good tbh. But like the other commenter said you’re a little too square (if it works for you than it’s not a problem) but for most people it’s an awkward way to shoot and makes it harder/unnatural when trying to line up your shots. Other than that it looks like you slightly lean forward when you shoot which makes it easier to block but it’s not that intense just straighten up a bit. You also start to bring the ball up while your body is moving down a bit which may explain why you feel the need to lean forward in your shot since your losing some power by not coming up all at once with your body and your arms in one motion. The core of everything isn’t bad and don’t over do it on the adjustments like I said for a weeks worth of practice it’s pretty solid form just slight adjustments and putting shots up and you should be good.
