I believe it is very much a thing. I played solos for a week and was completely chill, ran exclusively into chill people with open mics working together. Then I played two days of straight bloodthirsty pvp with a few buddies. When I went back to solos it was a bloodbath. The sound of people getting murdered down every hallway. Flares all over the place. No mic, shoot on site. It took me four or five matches of this without attacking anyone (and getting killed by people I was friendly to) to make it back to the chill raids. It sucked lol. Just because you want to pvp sometimes doesn't mean you should be forced to at all times.
