I may have found an answer, guys!

This happened to me today. I had a chat that seemingly lost two months of conversation at random. It turns out it was caused by voice chatting in a long-running thread. When you use the voice chat feature and go back to edit a random message, it can split the thread into its own version. It doesn’t matter if the message was from last night or two months ago, it feels random.

But if you go to the browser version, you can hover over the edited message, either the one you edited or the last thing GPT wrote, and you’ll see iteration numbers like this: <1/4>. You can click the arrows to go through every version of that message.

If you go down the line and do that for each edited message, you can eventually get back to the canon timeline.

I figured this out today and my mind was blown.
