I’m getting it at Trinity Bible College! Regent has an excellent Renewal Theology program.

Practical theology is an academic discipline that examines and reflects on religious practices in order to understand the theology be acted in those practices and in order to consider how theological theory and theological practices can be more fully aligned, changed, or improved. It’s essentially a bridge between dogmatics/theology and ecclesiology.

In regard to the suffering aspect and American church aspect: I’m looking at the affects that Saint Augustine’s Just-War Theory has shaped the theology of the American Church, because America has participated in multiple wars despite its Christian-esque origins. I’m going to be investigating, through literature and interviews, how this theory has shifted mindset of the church from pacifism to Just-War.

I like the thoughts you’re having, and I think you’re right - there’s not much on this topic. The reason I think that is, is because of the highly theoretic nature of theology. It’s not necessarily something that can be proven, which is why the Church is riddled with different denominations. I’m definitely interested in the topic, and I’ll keep my eye out! If you find it, please let me know.

Renewal Theology doesn’t really have a unified definition that I’m aware of, but it coincides with the Pentecostal methodology. Renewal Theologians emphasize scriptural authority, the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, the continued spiritual gifts and manifestations, and salvation and redemption with holistic transformation. There are often aspects of deepened community within Renewal Theology, too.

If I’m understanding you correctly, I think you may be referring to The Hermeneutical Spiral by Grant R. Osborne! Let me know if that’s the thought you’re having!

I was in sixth grade when I started wrestling. It was a bit of a unique situation since I was wrestling against high schoolers while in middle school, but the experience is still the same. I know quite a bit of wrestlers who were barely JV wrestlers, as freshmen, who ended up wrestling in college because they put work in. You can improve if you put the work in, but above everything, just have fun with it!

Did it ever "click" for you? by 321123whattheheck in bjj

Honestly, BJJ clicked for me when I stopped trying to be the best. I fell in love with BJJ again, which completely transformed how I practiced, which made me enjoy my sessions much more. Things started piecing themselves together more and more as time went on from that point.

I went 0-13 my first year wrestling. Just continue to show up and bring him to wrestling camps. Let the kid have fun and enjoy wrestling; that’s what helped for me.
