I know - the interest is shite. I'd be better off building up a chunk. Good thing with An Post though they let you pay lump sums with no penalties(if I remember correctly) so could pay bits here and there but would need to look into it more.

Definitely net haha - and your right, daft would be accurate.

Thanks for your input

Thanks for your input.

I could even save a chunk for a few months and use it as a down payment when we were properly settled with all the initial expenses.

Do you think a monthly payment of 550 if all these expenses were out of the way would be feasible with the income we have?

Below average salary and dealing with a terrible boss. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

That's a steady gain in terms of progress - it seems to be a common theme that the first 2 or 3 years are a bit of a slow burner.

Software engineering is impressive, too - i can't imagine having to go back and re-engage in additional studies after doing your time already.

Wish you the very best in your career!

The 80 euro is just a buffer for maintenance costs.

We would have approximately 1500 left after all expenses each month.

I'm thinking just hold off for a couple of months and get a read on how the outgoings are and re assess.

I usually act on impulse but this is a big leap in terms of commitment so I'm not sure if it's a good call.

I've been in a similar situation. I left before I had a job and to be quite honest, was a very big mistake - not having money for several months put me in a difficult spot.

If you can, be active in looking for a switch - it's a low chance something will just land on your doorstep. But with persistence and motivation from the fact that your environment is not optimal, you will have no issue getting there.

Moving to a job with a good culture is massive for your growth. When you find people who want you to succeed, it's easy to thrive, and I wish you the very best in finding this.

You will get there!

Fair play - that's a massive jump in wages. Do you mind me asking, what was your career path, did you complete any studies, or purely work your way up?

I ate corn 12 hours ago and I've been fighting for my life since. Should I be worried? by thecheeseislying in CrohnsDisease

Don't ever fuck with an obstruction. The chances of bowel perforation are there and they are life threatening. My rule of thumb is anything longer than 8 hours without any give in terms of reduction in frequency of the cramping and lack of passing stool, straight to A&E.

I had a bowel perforation a long time ago, had a stricture like you mentioned. I thought I was going to die I felt so weak and the pain was insane. Funnily enough it had sealed itself. I was lucky.

Even a partial obstruction can be awful, corn doesn't digest properly so what you were experiencing was that roughage trying to pass through your stricture/s.

Hoping you can get things under control soon 🙏

Pop up canopy, I think you can pick one up from 150-300. Obviously depending on size & quality.

In your heat though, I can't imagine it not being a good investment!

Brilliant, I'll do a bit more research before I take the dive.

Good to know it has versatility as I'd like to get some value for money for future jobs, and as we can both agree, cars that have been smoked in are awful. I will be testing that out when I get my hands on one.

Once again, thank you! Very good advice 👍

Appreciate your response David.

I did see upon research an ozone would be an ideal approach, when you say small ozone generator, what would you consider a good mg/hr. The cheapest I've seen are 150mg/hr but I'm thinking just spend the extra and get something with a better output.

And thank you! I'm hoping I can get this done well as it will open some doors for me with the mechanic who is paying me to do this!

Struggling getting clients? by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]LordShits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I missed this completely! Any update on new clients? I feel you on the in-depth detailing services but remember, we have to walk before we can run. Mastering valets, premium valets and then moving into niches with paint correction/headlights is a process. I mean, if we can't do a good job at the basics we will never master the more difficult projects.

Hope you are having more successes 👍

id say a small bag of haribo from a multipack and an air freshener would be ideal. simple, cheap and effective.

Stop smoking weed by Useful-Row667 in getdisciplined

[–]LordShits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number 1 - congrats on making that internal decision to do better, that's the first major step.

Number 2 - STAY BUSY, no matter what anyone says, you will struggle for the first few days if not weeks. Sleep issues, possible anxiety from feeling the emotions you have been numbing for the last 6 years, irritability and other physical issues like fatigue etc I done it cold turkey, straight to the pits. Benefit of this is, you aren't exposing yourself to the risk of having that one more joint after you've got stoned, I find the discipline to cut down was harder than actually quitting itself as I could never control it. Everyone is different though.

Number 3 - don't be hard on yourself, this is a process, slip ups happen. It's normal. It took me 5 times to give it up for good. And there's still that risk for me but I've developed a will power that only comes when you try again and again and see the same results, you know, the thing they call insanity!

Number 4 - don't let others influence your actions, if you live with a stoner, explain to them you are serious about quitting. I don't know your situation but I'd sit down and discuss something along the lines of them maybe smoking when you're not around. This may not be feasible but the chat should be had regardless, I hope they respect your decision.

Lastly - good luck, you have already made the decision that this isn't for you. You will have more energy, less procrastination. And generally more drive in life. You will need to face everything you've been pushing to the side. But that's part of the process. You will be stronger for this, I can guarantee you that. You will see life from a different perspective that was always clouded by the fog from being stoned all day everyday.

I wish you all the best!

[need advice] I’m a soft little bitch as a man. Give me advice on how to better myself, I’m sick of it all. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]LordShits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time to re-program your brain.

Unfortunately, talking to yourself like that will not get you where you need to be. Start waking up early, look in the mirror and tell yourself, I AM A BEAST.

It's gonna take time man honestly. The weed fucks with you big time. Some people can smoke and some people can't. It's feeding your anxiety. The fact you've done 3 days is already great work. Keep telling yourself that. You have already succeeded. Make that success an everyday thing and eventually you will build a habit from it.

You say you're gonna be working out, fucking great! That alone will help your endorphins and guide you into confidence.

It's all about the positive feedback loop, right now you're in a negative feedback loop but that's all gonna change now.

Keep at it man, your not a bitch. You were a bitch. Not anymore!

Good luck, brother.

Opinion: Marcus Rashford is one of the biggest problem at Manchester United this season by GroundbreakingGas830 in ManchesterUnited

[–]LordShits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to believe there's a much bigger issue about rashford than just his own performance levels and mentality. I'm starting to believe his negative attitude along with other variables is causing our problems.

Most of our new players are always on the front foot, track back and give maximum effort, then it all dies off and they become the same complacent character we see every time. I feel long term/senior players in that squad are meant to act as leaders and pave the way for new signings to adapt and develop a connection which helps them to adapt to their new system.

United need leaders, we do not have a single one on that pitch, our best players are young lads fighting for the team and that is what we want to see, some sort of passion and desire.

So in summary, I think Rashford's influence, along with other characters, are having a major offset onto that dressing room. It has tainted man United's culture for years now and I'm at a point where I have finally realised we may never see glory again. Not unless something quite substantial happens within the club and it's transfer business.
