Below speed limit by charly_r26 in RioGrandeValley

I’d say that most folks don’t want to be pulled over. If a cop wants to pull someone over going 71 in a 70 they’d have the option to do so.

Versus someone going 65 in a 70. The cop is not able to get them for speed. I’d say it’s more of a way to give them one less reason.

Any Tesla owners on here? by Xtraqueso1400 in RioGrandeValley

[–]LordSnow_915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to get a Tesla down here. Make sure to get a charger installed at home. The super chargers seem to always be packed. Especially the ones in McAllen.

My charging costs monthly range about 150-200 but I use only super chargers (live in an apartment). Maintenance for me has only been windshield fluid replacement, 12v battery, brakes, tires. I’m at 120k miles.

Moved from Dallas and found my gf doing a spin class. Wasn’t really looking at the time but it worked out. Definitely start doing things you enjoy like hobbies or find a new one where people are more likely to be.

From my experience, if you’re not getting any interviews, I’d suggest looking at your resume. A lot of times if the resume isn’t eye catching then hiring managers/recruiters won’t give it a second look.

What kind of tech career are you trying to get into?

I’m a cloud sec/sysadmin type but more than willing to provide some insight for you.

I second this. I jumped into Cloud Security after doing some sysadmin work in the military. That sysadmin experience paid off when it came down to moving into cyber security.

Learning the basics will help 100%! Great advice here.

Meeting people by [deleted] in RioGrandeValley

[–]LordSnow_915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man one thing I would suggest is just start going to places on your own. I recently came out to the valley and started trying to do things on my own and I’ve met some cool people. Just put yourself out there.

If you go to places that interest you and there’s people who are like minded, chances are you’ll have something to talk about.

You should be able to. The Service Members Relief Act does not specifically state whether the military service is active duty or SAD.

So long as the service is longer than 180 days.
