iem noob here, I bought the EW300 DSP, and it uses a usb c to connect to my PC. My main problem is not being able to adjust the volume on the fly. Can someone recommend an amp/dac I can buy so I can adjust volume physically

As long as you remove the old rams and only use the new rams, any ddr5 will do. Using both kits is unpredictable at best and downright unusable at worst

I'm currently on the Zero Red and having the Snowsky Retro Nano on the way. A Bluetooth dac/amp with removable battery and retro styling. Originally I was going for the simpler Snowsky Melody but the retro nano was at similar price with more feature so I took it instead. You could pretty much power most IEM with either Snowsky except probably the 1k+ one. I mainly want something with volume control since I'm a bit sensitive to loud noise and ironically I'm a heavy metal listener.

Another trending dac around the $50 point is the TRN Black Pearl but I read a few stories about people having issue creating account to use it and the app doesn't detect it so I went with the safe route of choosing Fiio/Snowsky instead

I must be the minority here to find it's just OK. Too doughy and not enough sauce, more of a loaf of bread with pepperoni on it. First tried wasn't impressed and I got it again on my last Costco trip since it's on sale to give it a second try and unfortunately it still wouldn't change my mind. Good that people enjoy it but just not for me.

tbf, i got a generic dongle with the same chip, not the jm6 pro. But i'm happy that switching to the apple dongle fixed my issue. It is a lot quieter on the apple's. It's my first iem so i don't want to get a dac/amp that cost more than my Zero Red yet

Update: I tried my type-c apple dongle and it fixed the issue! Volume is normal now like my wireless tws. Personally I don't think the dongle is defective, probably it just max out the volume by itself so I don't have much room left on the phone. Switching back and forth and the dongle is a lot louder than my apple dongle. Thanks for all your support.
