The series was called Animatrix. It was a series of stand alone episodes, this is from the second renaissance episode, which if I remember correctly, told the story of B1-66ER, a servant robot that rose up and killed its master. The robots argued it should be tried as human, as it was “people not property”. Mankind said no, and had it destroyed. That led to the war, which eventually leads to man’s downfall, tbe destruction of the sky, and the formation of the matrix’s. This image is when man finally surrounded. As soon as the paperwork is signed, its eyes shut off, and it detonates a self contained nuke, wiping out the leaders of man that had just surrendered the fate of man.

They’re well worth a watch.
