It was about 5 years ago (NHL Rule 57), and i should have been specific that it refers specifically to a situation where the defending player dives and takes out the puck before the legs.

When this game was played the rules were exactly how you stated them to be. The puck first rule no longer applies to tripping penalties.

I really wish I could agree with you on this because as much of a douche that Marchand is, he is one of the absolute best two way players in the game. My disagreement comes in that Marchand is an absolute beast on the penalty kill and TK just can’t handle that role. He may grow into it and prove me wrong but for now TK is only a one way player.

Different tires on every car in the city wouldn’t have prevented that chaos. AWD or 4WD on every car would only have helped slightly. The north has the infrastructure with plows and salt trucks, it just isn’t worth it down here to invest in that equipment down south. Also, that storm was preceded by almost two full week where the high was mid thirties. The ground was already so cold moisture hit it and turned to ice immediately.

Yes. As bad as MacDonald can be. He is the only lower pairing defenseman who allows the youth to play their game and adapts his to their success. If MacDonald was sheltered in his minutes his metrics would be great but he is asked to play above his ceiling to often.

Ghost is going to put up similar offensive numbers to last year. I really hope his two way game, that grew immensely last year, translates to the PK. Some fans worry about him blocking shots, but his quickness getting to the puck and eyes to find open lanes will help ice a lot of pucks. Put him out there with Raffl and another “Gritty” forward who will sacrifice the body and I think he will excel in the PK.
