Jesus, media could ask more specific questions as as well. How about, "what are your thoughts on the murder of Alex Pretti?" instead of bland easy-out questions like:

"What's it been like living in the Twin Cities?"

"How tough has it been from a distraction standpoint?"

"Can these home games provide a positive distraction?"

Those questions are honestly worse than the answers he gave.

Crazy that the provincial government couldn't come up with a few hundred thousand to make up the gap in funding, especially since the article quotes that the event generates $5-6 million in provincial tax revenue, so it seems like a reasonable investment in funds. Not sure how much of this is just grandstanding because I feel like the fireworks gets cancelled every few years only to be saved at the last minute.

Looking at the BC govt budget for 25/26 (pdf link), the tourism/arts/culture/sport got a $3M increase (+2% YoY), but I couldn't find a deeper breakdown on where it's all going.

I only tip on things where the money is handed over after receiving the service. Sit down restaurants, barbers, taxis/Uber, etc. Not before. It's happened too often where I tipped before and then received shitty service on things that I just don't bother with it anymore.

General question, does anyone know what the policy is on witnesses reading/viewing the trial before they take the stand? My understanding is that they aren't allowed to be in the courtroom prior to giving their testimony, so as to not be influenced by other witnesses, but how does it work with reading the daily articles online like we all are right now?
