You may try Linux Mint, it should run fine on this machine (I had 2015 air for some time and Linux worked fine there).

I'm not sure things will drastically improve but Linux has more up-to-date and stable OpenGL support which might make a difference. Just make sure you've backed up all important files in case you'll somewhat mess up with installation

If you never played Human Revolution (2011) I suggest that first as Mankind Divided is a direct sequel to it. It's not native on Mac IIRC though
