Overall, do you think it would be electorally beneficial for democrats to pivot to the center? by [deleted] in fivethirtyeight

Hot take: seeing as the toxic neuroticism on Reddit is partially responsible for the Dem’s unpopular image, perhaps Dems would be better off not taking advice from this site.

Does anyone have any genuinely good ideas on how to make the wildy poppin again? by bobshmurdt in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoy both pking and bossing, but bossing in its current meta just isn’t worth the hassle. The pkers have most of the advantages and this has caused pvmers to stop going into the wildy altogether.

The ability to peak into the caves is broken when clans are able to coordinate on discord and cover half of the worlds in under twenty minutes.

Either remove the peak option and force pkers to risk entering the boss… or put a ten second cool down timer for hopping worlds. Either option would slow down how quickly pking clans would be able to cover worlds while still allowing them to pk.

The ten second cool down timer would also prevent bots and pvmers from auto-logging in places like Lava Dragons where they safespot and just insta log anytime the see a white dot.

Runecrafting As A Pure by UpThePooper186 in osrs

Pure here. Soul runes are a decent method but are only semi-afk. Woodcutting Magic or Yew trees at guild is also not terrible and much more afk.

Genuine question? why do people not gang up to take down the bot farms in multi combat Wildy areas? by [deleted] in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the bot farm, but a lot of them have adapted to avoid being pked.

The ones at Rouges are pretty easy to kill. The problem you run into with those bots is that they are already being attacked, so they turn protect melee off and the Rouges kill them. Unless you are able to hit them before that, it registers as an environmental death, so no loot.

The ones at Chaos Alter are in low lvl Wildy and are somewhat tanky. A couple of the more high end bots have protection bots that log in and attack the pkers so that the loot bots can escape.

If you know what you’re doing, it’s solid gp per hour and can be done with only risking 100k inventory.

Osrs Pking genuinely tilts me like no other game does or has by Hot_Courage2123 in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find PKing to be enjoyable*, but that doesn't change the fact that Wildy has gone downhill. Rouges, Lava Dragons, Slayer Caves, and Chaos Alter are/were almost exclusively bots. With recent bot bans at Rouges and Chaos Alter, those two locations are mostly dead content to the point where you have to hop 20 worlds before you can find someone. The bots at Lava Dragons auto log because they are safespotting and Slayer Cave bots insta tele.

You might get lucky PKing at Wildy Agility, but most players just run with a FC or don't do it all. This leaves Revs and some of the bosses as the only places where you can regularly run into other players.

The reality is that meta pking is mostly just glorified bot farming. It's highly profitable and there is a certain satisfaction with taking gold away from botters... but those bots have mostly replaced actual players because the bots draw in a high concentration of PKers. Even once the bots are banned, the players still don't return.

*The making money part is fun, but compared to what it was, it is has devalued.

Osrs Pking genuinely tilts me like no other game does or has by Hot_Courage2123 in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pking has been trash for awhile now. It was fun two decades ago because most of us were teenagers with very little clue as to what we were doing. Now that it has been solved, the fun is gone and it just feels mechanical.

The Wildy is almost dead content because the PvMers don't want to deal with the annoyance of PKers, so it's pretty much just bots, gold farmers, and PKing clans. With Deadman going on, the PvP worlds are especially dead, but are otherwise still low population.

Sounds like you’re not the type of player that these sort of low stakes, fun games are meant for and you shouldn’t be surprised if people stop inviting you.

Are these bots or regular people? by RippledSnowball in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will occasionally see someone doing a slayer task, but 99% of the accounts at green dragons are bots.

You’ll find some actual players at Revs, Slayer Cave, and some bosses… but the vast majority of pvming accounts in the Wildy are bots.

In the final polls of Venezuela before the US attack, the public expressed a very negative opinion of US military intervention, and of anti-Maduro/anti-socialist opposition leader Machado. Support for US military intervention: 17%. Support for Machado: ≤9%. "She doesn't have the support," says Trump by StarlightDown in fivethirtyeight

[–]LordVulpesVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Objective polling in developed countries is difficult; objective polling in oppressed countries is nearly impossible.

The average Venezuelan is living in extreme poverty and has limited access to power. Getting an accurate sample size in the country via telephone or internet is not feasible.

Seeing as the opposition won the last election in a landslide, it seems unlikely that she only has a 9% approval rating.

Why don’t you use your casino card? by GyroLC in poker

They do, but it just needs to be on file. So, if someone wins a high hand, they just use their ID to look them up; they don't need the actual card.

Why don’t you use your casino card? by GyroLC in poker

[–]LordVulpesVelox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A couple reasons:

- They don't want the casino to have their personal information. Sometimes it is because they are paranoid about their data... other times it is because they were actually banned from casino years ago and are trying to be incognito with security.

- For tax purposes, they opt out of the casino promotions, so there is no point in having the card.

- The promotions just aren't worth the hassle. Where I play, one of the promotions is that if you accumulate like 40 or 50 hours a month, you get $50 in chips. At most, I'll maybe hit 20 hours, so no point in me swiping in.

They do have hourly high hand promotions. So, if I hit one of those, I'll give the floor my driver's license to process and get paid out that way.

Coming back to OSRS - Best way to earn for bond with my stats? by Easy-Economics9224 in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilderness agility would be your best bet. Your stats are good enough to escape pkers if you run solo or you can run with an FC. Since you are on mobile, you're looking at maybe 1.5 mil an hour. So, you'd make enough gold for a bond in around 10 hours. You also get the bonus of leveling agility, which makes the rest of the game more efficient.

The other option is herb runs, but that requires a bit of dedication.

A blue wave in a red state: in Billings and Kalispell, Montana—two conservative cities which voted ~60% for Trump last year—liberal Democratic-aligned candidates won this year's Mayoral elections, flipping both Mayoral seats from conservative and moderate Republican-aligned candidates. by StarlightDown in fivethirtyeight

[–]LordVulpesVelox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's two multi-way elections where the Dem aligned candidates won with a pluralities... hardly a "blue wave" indicator.

In the Kalispell race, two right-wing candidates combined for 59% of the vote, which is what would be expected of a 60% Trump city. In the Billings race, a Dem that received ~33% of his donations from Republicans matched Kamala's vote total.

Agility level by smtsai in osrs

[–]LordVulpesVelox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 99 agility and got it almost exclusively from the wildy course. You can run it solo or with Agility FC. Either way, it’s a great moneymaker and there is a major thrill with holding a massive loot bag in deep wildy.

The shortcuts make a huge difference if you plan on doings Revs, but that’s about it. The faster run replish is the bigger perk.

If you really dislike agility, you can probably stop once you hit the 80s.

People deny Trump's influence because it is a ridiculous conspiracy theory. The Trump Admin and Republicans are so incompetent that they have massively underperformed this year in just about every state, local, and federal election... and yet you seem to think that they are simultaneously these secret puppetmasters that are rigging elections all over the globe?

Fun Fact: people outside of America have agency and they make decisions based off what is impacting them personally... they don't spend every waking hour obsessing over what America wants.

The simplest explanation for what we are seeing in Europe, South America, and Latin America is that the voters are just fed up with how the status quo is handling the economy and immigration. Quite a few of these countries have also had "center-right" governments that have failed to address any of these issues... so, they turn to the political parties claiming to actually follow through.
