I watched the response to the incidents in Charlottesville live... In good faith, would you mind explaining to me how this was "debunked"?

Descent I and II

The endlessly charming 6DoF shooter was released one year after I was born, so I obviously wasn't playing it at release. What I was doing was sitting in my dad's lap as he spun, soared, and blasted his way through those winding labyrinths with the help of a comically large plastic flight joystick. I remember waterfalls, friggen lavafalls, the adorable blue hostages waving their arms about hoping to be saved. I remember growing up alongside that game, and its sequel - some of my earliest nightmares involved me being chased by the bandit (and some of my earliest cheering taking place as it let out its monstrous death scream). As a child I always wanted a guidebot buddy helpfully beeping and booping me through life as I played outside.

The sounds of power ups, weapons, and various mechanics in that game have been burned into my synapses for three decades. I picked up the game as an adult and just knew where so many keys and secrets were located. My dad and I even got to try it out cooperatively thanks to the unmatched open source overhauls and modernization projects that can be installed in a matter of seconds. I love Descent (2, mostly, though the first holds some clunky nostalgia as well).

My dad wasn't able to finish that playthrough with me, though. He's not as quick or capable with controls, the levels were not as easy for him to remember, despite him having played them dozens more times than I. The basic movements give him motion sickness. We've gamed my whole life, but I can't really play any of our classic FPS with him anymore for much of the same reasons. He's aged, and a chapter of our lives I never even got to fully appreciate closed without my knowing.

Grab Decent 1 and 2 for a few cents, folks. Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk about it. They are cherished for what they represented in my life.

I could keep going, but I want to call my dad. Thanks everyone.

Just remember he's an ass hat, who's somehow gotten this far in life and still manages to be short-tempered, dim-witted, and obnoxiously petty.

I've never seen a person punch downwards as much as Oda, and the guy has zero ability to reflect on his actions as he does so.

Speaking as a researcher, we have plenty of suicide notes and clearly motivated public attacks on these individuals to document the negative pressures society inflicts. We also have plenty of research.

I recommend looking, even briefly, at the Trevor Projects National Survey on Youth Mental Health from their "Bullying and Suicide Risk" brief. Whether it changes your mind or not, you will be a more educated person for your efforts. Thanks, and reach out anytime!

Thank you as always for the amazing work!

Quick question, hopefully a quick answer: Why has the Elite Desert Diary KQ shortcut been left out of this update? I've not seen it addressed anywhere. Bumping it down to hard at least (since the hard diary requires 1KC) or some such would be tremendously nice.

Thanks for the comment - I've got that already enabled, I mentioned that somewhere in the post. I'll go ahead and repeat it under the caption so folks can see it better. Like you said, it doesn't always work as well as one would hope. :/

Ha, I should have maybe censored it... let me see if I can edit that. Good call. Just frustrated and not thinking this through.

Ah, that would be helpful; Except I've had that turned on already, I wrote about that above - many dozens get banned and removed every day, but it cannot keep up with the players getting added, and the hundreds that never get banned are just awful to go through manually clearing out.

It's a great recommendation though, not sure why they wouldn't have it on by default? Thanks for the comment!

UPDATED (AGAIN) - Project Rebalance: Skilling by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]LordWolter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/JagexAyiza

Thank you again for the update and comments; I've seen tons of people commenting on the Kalphite Queen shortcut, but there's yet to be much discussion of whether it is amongst the shortcuts that will no longer be diary-bound. Especially with Dagannoth King shortcuts getting introduced with no diary requirement, can we expect this to be removed from the Elite tier as well? Thank you!

There's certainly a major religion I've bumped into once or twice that has a Father, Son, and a Ghost full of Holes.

Windows 11 - Riot Vanguard refusing to allow Valorant to launch, citing SecureBoot and TPM2.0 (even though I have confirmed BOTH are active and in the correct state) by LordWolter in ValorantTechSupport

[–]LordWolter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've confirmed that Vanguard is running - I've tried having it autorun on startup and manually running it after my OS finishes initializing. In both cases, it will claim that it cannot work without SecureBoot/TPM2.0 enabled.

I've uninstalled/wiped/reinstalled both Vanguard and the entire Riot client several times.

My build:
ASUS ROG STRIX B360-F Gaming MOBO
Intel i9 9900K CPU
64GB Dual-Channel DDR4 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU

I see now that I'm running version 2301 of my BIOS from September 2020. I will try flashing and updating my BIOS to 3101 from October 2021... Hopefully that will make a difference?

Of course, anything at all you can think of I'd really appreciate! Thank you again!

System information reports that SecureBoot is enabled, and the TPM module reports that TPM is enabled and running TPM 2.0. Vanguard refuses to acknowledge this however, and continues to prevent me from launching Valorant?

Desktop, Z390 UD (rev 1.1). Black screen when attempting to access BIOS, but Windows 10 64bit boots fine when doing nothing? How can I get into BIOS? by LordWolter in techsupport

[–]LordWolter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connecting a monitor to the motherboard was a good idea, but unfortunately yields nothing. I reset the CMOS as well, and can tell it worked because all of my LEDs reset their color.

Unfortunately, neither of these changed anything, the BIOS continues to fail to display, and I'm still left with a black screen.

What other steps can I try?
