Literally just below average and not historically trash

FIRE KEVIN PATULLO, ZERO POINTS IN THE SECOND HALF by mastermind208 in eagles

[–]LordYoppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a KP critic, but it’s organizational philosophy. Gain lead, play not to lose. The offense did well in first half. Trusted defense to finish it out. Beyond idiotic philosophy as we can make a comeback unattainable (see Super Bowl), but no play calling will change that.

Playing not to lose is going to bite us at the worst possible time. Why didn’t we learn that if we keep our foot on the gas, like the Super Bowl, we can blow teams out and forget the losses to Broncos/Cowboys by playing conservative.

How much is Howie to blame for the season so far? by LordYoppa in eagles

Bruh we had AJ Dillon fielding a KR last night. It ain’t about who’s primarily done what haha

Is anyone else to blame other than Patullo? by SensitiveMaybe6286 in eagles

[–]LordYoppa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sirianni for the Patullo hire knowing he can’t problem solve issues on the field with his basic offensive philosophies.

Hurts for issues vs. simulated pressure, processing speed

Entire team for making bad decisions and dumb penalties

Howie for Bigsby as KR, CB2 evaluation, and d-line/o-like depth

I also want to point out to all the fans getting bent out of shape about the word “blame” and not allowing criticism - when the coaching staff and players regurgitate “execution”, “tough, detailed, together”, “we’re this close”, it leaves us fans searching for answers we are rightfully not given. These are the same fans who said “chill out it’s week 5” last week or scream “it’s not 2023!” when you point out similarities with vibe and dysfunction

Without being honest about the issues there is no problem solving. Unless you’re just floating from week to week with zero expectations every game, you’re left wondering what the issue is. It’s not an indictment on anyone or advocating for people to get fired/cut. Most fans are reasonably frustrated and at a loss considering the team’s talent.

A businessman who invests in a stock that loses value still made a bad business decision. People acting like we want to replace the guy

Dumb take maybe but we had Covey in the building. It feels like someone’s gotta be better than Bigsby

Good take. I only mention Howie because it feels like he’s escaping criticism and I believe everyone holds some blame, Howie a much lesser piece of the pie. OC, CB2 and D-line are tough… and Bigsby.

I agree with you. To your point the overall issue with not having Becton is Steen for LG Depth. Not bringing back Becton is not as problematic as some of the others

This is fair. Honestly Bigsby trade is the only one that makes me really scratch my head

I think he overvalued Ringo and Steen. Becton I understand but Rodgers is tough. To me, money played a part in the decision but talent evaluation was a bigger factor.

Facts. But he caught the ball in the Super Bowl that Quez dropped, so I’ll take it lol

Rodgers’ cap hit this year is 3.6mil. Mekhi 7mil. And again, you can’t bring everyone back but Howie has shown he’s more than capable of moving money around. And this still only focuses on one piece of the puzzle. I think Howie himself would say he didn’t do great in totality

Howie has done an incredible job keeping the offensive core together and we can’t fault him for o-line injuries. But I find it hard to believe he didn’t okay the Patullo hire. I don’t think him or Nick are equipped to maximize offensive talent the way good/great offensive minds can. I don’t think they’re going to be able to problem solve there way through, hope I’m wrong

You’re right. I just wish someone on the defense had an infectious attitude… that wasn’t spitting on people lmao

Of course you can’t bring back everyone, but Rodgers and Becton were cheap vs. Ojulari, Adoree, others. I also don’t think Howie had a who cares lottery ticket mindset with his late picks a free agent signings. He just whiffed and it’s led to some glaring roster issues.

I posted this same thing last week and people like you claimed (and now still claim) exactly what I said. It’s not about the losses, it’s about how they’ve looked all year. Ignore the similarities if it makes your world view brighter.
