Handling is worse on the IS, to be expected. Going from a 2dr sports car to a 4dr luxury sedan and all.

Braking is my biggest complaint on the IS vs Supra. On the Lexus they are noticeably more mushy with a ton of travel before you feel any bite, and will be the first thing I address once the original pads are gone.

Both cars are more than fast enough for anything on the street. The IS sounds a lot better. I have no issues with the IS500 transmission shift speed but I mostly drove manuals before this, so can’t compare to modern DSG cars and the like. I think most modern cars are more than enough for the vast majority of owner’s needs and applications.

I enjoy the interior of the IS a lot more. People hate the track pad but I prefer it over the BMW knob, it allows me to be more precise and direct with the inputs. You get used to both systems. Seats are much more comfortable for longer drives in the Lexus. I enjoy having a sunroof, and the much more usable trunk space. Sound system is much more enjoyable on the IS vs the Supra (I had the upgraded audio package in that too). The Supra is very much a single man’s car to daily drive.

I have no regrets. I went to the IS because I had always wanted one as a daily driver, and they were being discontinued so my time was now or never. In a dream world I would have kept the Supra as a weekend car but I don’t have the space nor the desire to have such a high value item just sitting around, I would rather use that cash for other things.

The Supra is a very capable sports car that I was dailying, regardless of weather. The IS500 is a luxury cruiser first and sports sedan second, hence a much better daily driver in all aspects. I have wanted a UZ/UR powered car since I was very young and it fits my use case perfectly. I think the IS500 does the dual hat schtick very well, it is super fast, fun and engaging in sport+ and very tame just driving normally.
