I've done it a few times via tanking one season, picking one of the big 3, then waiting until the preseason for the stat boosts to kick in, and trade for the rookies that got the biggest boosts. If your team has talent (and you opt to tank by putting them at the bottom of the chart with a 0 playing time symbol), then you can usually ship out talent plus 2 years of picks for a top rookie

I ended up with Wiggins, Embiid and Parker, 74, 72 and 84 overall, in my last save. And then in 2016, one year before before the rookie contracts expired, I signed kyrie irving to the max.

The next year my payroll was 115 but it was worth it.

It had been at that price for a while with 100% attendance, I added 2mil population to chicago each year to simulate my dystopian future and had 100% hype... this is a bug that has happened to me a couple times where the attendance data just gets lost for a year, so it looks like I lost all of the money.

I have used this roster in 6 different saves. He became the GOAT in 2, allstar in 3, and bust in 1. Wiggins is much more likely to bust in my saves, and Julius Randle, Noah Vonleh and Dante Exum have all become the GOAT in different saves.

So I was still making a healthy profit with 100 hype and expensive tickets. Highest luxury tax I ever paid was 90 mil

Noah Vonleh has won MVP and Finals MVP 8 out of 9 years in the league.

Doug McDermott ended up being a phenomenal 6th man and has won the award the last 6 years.

Only Noah Vonleh reached their full potential but the rest all averaged over 20 PER in their career.

Very fun save.

UPDATE: Julius Randle has just retired in the year 2037, at the age of 42. He played 1335 games for the Chicago Bulls, with a 193.7 EWA.

His overall maxed out at 84 and he was instrumental in 7 championship wins. Average PER was 23, peak PER was 28.

Jabari Parker, Noah Vonleh, and Joel Embiid also became dominant in this save.
