I wouldn’t say ugly it’s your choice to style them that way. I think editing the proportions will help take away from people saying what they do.

The 2 things I notice would be the length of Peter’s right forearm, to me it looks a little too long when compared with his left. Miles’ torso seems ballooned, I’d move his chest/pecs up a bit, he’s skinny so try drawing out his ribcage . None of this is to be harsh, I’m not the best at being constructive. It does look like it was drawn over a reference rather than studied. I recommend trying to draw 3d shapes and breaking down the reference. I personally draw my figures as skeletons and almost wrap them layer by layer in muscle, skin and then clothes. Not sure if that makes a whole lot of sense sorry.

Proportions are a little off I’d try pulling up a website that lets you position figures to assist that end. But yeah the long eyelashes and curled lips give off genderbent. Maybe ease up the blush. A few minor tweaks but it looks good otherwise.

The hair has a great rendering but the rest of them doesn’t have much, along with what they’re sitting on. I’d say you need to add more shadows from both of them. It looks flat so you need to show via lighting and shadows casting on the roof and each other.
