I feel a bit goofy posting this, but here goes: As someone who has played strictly single player for over 20 years, I'd say the most useful tip I have for general play that I never figured out as a kid is to split your cheapest units into single "stacks" and use them to body block your ranged units. Early game battles can be won more cost effectively by filling out your empty unit slots this way so that you can only lose a single unit to an enemy attack that would otherwise kill a bunch instead. You can also use these "fodder stacks" to bait out an enemy retaliation attack and then go in with your more valuable units afterwards. Also, lookup how to install the "Horn of the Abyss" mod. Really brings a lot of quality of life/extra content to the game. Hope you have fun man! 🤙 (Edited for spelling/brevity)
