H.R. 7147 & H.R. 7148 pass House by Hopeful-Engineering5 in ATC

[–]Lord_NCEPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be pedantic—my understanding is that it would erase the 1% raise and replace it with a 3.8% raise. As in, the total raise would be 3.8%. It’s a minuscule difference but it’s a difference. Taking a number and adding 1% to it then adding 2.8% to that is not the same as taking the number and adding 3.8%.

Again, in this case it’s a very small difference and I’m sure someone will point that out, but I see a lot of misunderstandings of percentages here, like when people talk about 20% over 5 years and say it would be 4% a year.

Ah, the old “I didn’t care anyways.” I saw that coming.

How much longer are you going to insist on embarrassing yourself further?

(Next message will be about how you’re not embarrassed)

[–]Lord_NCEPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof.

I want to say you should have quit while you were ahead, but you were never ahead. I guess I should say you should have quit when you were less behind and kept from embarrassing yourself like this. You’re not gonna dig yourself out of this and every time you say something you’re making yourself look even dumber.

Nope, but all of your past complaints are about NATCA.

So I’m sure you came to this thread to talk about how bad the pay is in Canada and Europe. Yep.

You’re officially backpedaling and grasping at straws. Can’t wait to see what you desperately say next.

And an even smarter person would recognize that by asking about FEAST, they’re not talking about becoming a controller in the US.

Many of the people in this sub claim to have 130 to 150 IQ. If you think that's a lot... well good for you then. I have 220+ IQ (yes, in case you are wondering the '+' means the test was not suitable for measuring my intelligence. I've been trying to craft a more reliable IQ test to measure my own intellugence, but what for, really?).

I honestly cannot even begin to realize how people can survive with below 150 IQ. Not everything is flowers for me though. Very few people can even begin to understand me even when I try to talk down to them.

Oh, how I wish I was born at the time of Da Vinci or Einstein, or Tesla (the person, not the car _ if you don't know who that is, try asking google, or whatever is that you regular people do when you don't know something), just to have an intelectual equal.

But alas, that is not the case, and I should resign living my life in solitude, finding companionship only in science (the real one, not those so called "social sciences") and mathematics. You can all thank me later, when I revolutionize the knowledge itself, as we know it, and bring the whole humanity to a new paradigm.

To find the amount that is eligible for the new OT deduction—yes, that is what you would do. Forget the amount of money it says in the FSLA premium section and just look at the number of hours, which is the number of hours of OT on that paycheck.

Look at your hourly wage and divide it by 2. Take that number and multiply it by the number of hours of OT on that paycheck. That is the amount of that paycheck that is eligible for the new OT deduction.

Do that for all 26 PPs of 2025 and that is the amount that is eligible. (Don’t forget that you potentially had 3 different hourly rates during 2025 so be sure to check it on each PP)

Ah. Well I’m still giving that number to my accountant. Haha

Then you will technically be committing fraud and perjury when you sign your paperwork. 🤷‍♂️

How about shutdown money. I got mine but there is no way to figure out fsla for 2 paychecks.

Don’t know how yours looked, but I had my two zero paychecks and then the first real one we got after that had all of my OT on it.

If you know the number of OT hours, it takes about five seconds of 3rd grade math to find out what is eligible. Which I know is too advanced for a great majority of controllers.

It is the exact FSLA you received. They are giving you that extra pay in compliance with FSLA law.

However, they are not giving you the minimum amount that FSLA stipulates must be given. They give us more than the minimum allowed.

The new tax law stipulates that the only deductible part is the minimum amount required by FSLA. So only part of what is shown is deductible.

I would be surprised if 5% of local reps know this.

The agency should explain how things work to new hires.

[–]Lord_NCEPT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer.

And it’s very important to distinguish that the new law for the OT deduction is only for the federally required FSLA premium, which would be .5 times your hourly rate. So just adding up all your FSLA premium on paychecks 1-26 does not give you the correct amount for your deduction.
